  • Stepping Al Fresco

Flat out trialling BODYSTEP 62 this week so great to get outside for a while – this outdoor photo shoot was a blast.  The setting was a steep set of steps in a leafy park in Auckland and a great place to capture some of the spirit of the program.  Watch out for some cool new posters for those club walls.

Back to 62 and last-minute choreo tweaks before we film in just over a week. It’s all good guys and it’s going to be great rolling this one out around the end of the year.  Big challenges in the peaks and some good blocks of power moves for a solid, honest workout (there’s a wicked leg burner in there, too, people. Ouch!!!)

Hope to see lots of you steppers joining us for filming on the 10th. And if you can’t make this one make a date for 63.

  • Hitched in Las Vegas

Well, two kids and a mortgage later we finally did it...

They say everything is about timing: the 4th of July, Vegas, the Strip, Elvis, a gentle push from Enormous Awesome Ormiston (my boss!) and a not so gentle push from Jasmin (our eldest daughter) "when are you going to marry daddy?". Lee and I decided to do the deed in Sin City.

What a blast! Literally booked the wedding on-line, sorted the flights, bought the frock, rings from Target!, County office for the paperwork, in the limo, singing 'Love Me Tender' and 'Viva Las Vegas' with Elvis and out the production line within 30 minutes...

Almost got away unnoticed apart from Norm trying to check in at the Hilton...

Eagerly awaiting a honeymoon back in Vegas...without the kids :-)

One of the great things about RPM is the way it brings the outdoor cycling experience right inside the gym - feeling like a pack leader in the Tour de France does amazing things for your motivation!

We’ve already gone a long way to building this connection between indoor and outdoor biking and we’re taking it a step further with the next release. We’re going to film RPM 29 in an Auckland cycle shop. Logistically it’ll be a challenge. Hauling 30 bikes across town and shifting to an offsite film set is a nightmare for our production company, LVT.

Glen and I reckon it’ll be worth the effort, though, to capture some of the colour and fun that comes with modern outdoor cycling.

We’ve got a great new “user-friendly” class in the making, with plenty of recovery options and some great new music. So look out riders. We’re coming to a gym near you!!!!

  • Back Home

    Aotearoa....back home :-)

Touched down in the land of the long white cloud...and oooohh, it ain't Texas let me tell you!!! Brrrrrrr..

Yup, its back to about 15 degrees for Dan & I, and home sweet home!

We were a tad sad at leaving Team America in the states...but at the same time, we had some wicked memories of our first trip to the US of A!

Our bus trip to the steps of the famous scene in ROCKY, where we all HAD to do the honours and follow our fore -fathers up to the mecca that is that Museum place, thingy me bob, where he runs up the steps!!!

Dan has his picture taken, (cheers Mac..can we have a copy?) which was a moment we will never forget...

Our trip to a real Honky Tonk in Texas, where we all ate, drank and were merry :-) Real cowboy's and cowgirls were havin' a ball on the dance floor, so I grabbed Dan and said "C'mon let's join in...pleaaaase?"

Like I'm gonna miss this opportunity!! Well, lets just say...I'm still alive....phew...they move fast, and there's me with little sandals on (that's jandals to you kiwi's :-), with all these cowboy boots around...eeeek!

A few Coronas later, and we are homeward bound...

That reminds me of a little ditty...goes a little somethin like this... (name that tune...)

"There's a voice, keeps on callin' me...
Down the road that's where I'll always be..
Every stop I take...I make a new friend......"

    Luv R & D xx
