Hey guys,
After spending a week down at the Coromandel riding all the parts of the K2 race I have come to the conclusion that this is going to be a tough event!
Within the first 70 km of the ride, which is into a head wind ,we encounter 5 of the 7 major climbs. With Wangapoua Hill at 380 metres being the most challenging climb not for the faint hearted. After riding 115 km we then tackle the Kopu Hikuai at 435 metres, then the rest is plain sailing!! Not.
Check out the website www.k2cycle.co.nz
The Coromandel is a beautiful place with room for lots of riding and fun so if you are ever in NZ then this is a place to definitely checkout. Two hours drive from Auckland you would not be disappointed.
RPM 30 is also beginning to take shape maybe we should dedicate this release to the K2 as some of the climbs seem familiar?
