Les Mills Kia Kaha

BODYJAM 37 Is In The Can!!

Great outfits. Great choreo. And great vibes in Studio One at Les Mills Auckland last night for an awesome new class jammers are gonna love.

Joining me onstage  to rip up the dance floor and finish off our best release yet were Kylie Gates, our regular  BODYJAM guru, Monica Baroni, the sexiest  French gurl I've seen this week, and the ever versatile Rachael Newsham.

We got some authentic African dance, some Club Latin for all you mambo lovers, and the hottest style of dance to come out of Jamaica, Ragga!!

Plus, check out the bonus Jazz-Rock choreography – it’s a block of extra moves to mix into the first or second half of your BODYJAM class. Some great new music and some classic tunes from back in the day…

Our new class wrapped up the filming of all seven Les Mills classes for another quarter. So stand by people – the 3/2006 Release is coming at ya!

Peace

G

Anyway, wat a spin out of a class aye. I didnt really have any interest in Jam, but both your class and teaching has truely bought me back.

You can see how much you love your baby (BJ) and it really brushes off on to us participants. Go Hard bro! You, Your team, and your baby BJ are truly becoming an inspiration to alot of Ppl.

Hello,

I belgian and personnaly, I like your new Body Jam style. But more of people don't like this!! It's not possible you make a Bady Jam in order to mix (in your choregraphy) the old and new Body jam. So every people will be pleased. Thanks and good continuation.
Sorry, my english is to bad.

Hi,

I think that Body Jam has improved over the past 2 years. G has taken Jam to the next level. The songs are hip & the moves are fantastic.  I have to say that the outfits rock too.

I love it so much, that i'm going to start teaching it.

The way I see it, Gandalph is putting some great stuff in jam now. Only problem is most of my clients only like the first half of all the new formats..the second half of them seem to be to slow or slows down.

I think it would be great to see maby a slower beginining working into a great cardio finish of the second half.. or maby just have only the first half of the new format and then do like we use to with the old jam.. Hip Hop, Latin..(heaps of people are missing latin), Cardio...etc....4 or 5 individual tracks with seperate routines..that would be cool...but hey im just saying what majority of my clients say...I have about 6 classes of jam everyweek.. all from different gyms... and they all say the same...who knows, guess its a matter of wait and see..

I started doing Body Jam only almost a year ago with Mix N' Match before we did Body Jam 32. I don't know how to dance but I learned a lot by doing Body Jam and the class really boosted my self-confidence and I gained a lot of friends!

My only concern is that I've gotten bored with the dance routines. After attending like 5-6 classes of a Body Jam track, I start to get bored with it. I noticed that some of the regulars in class feel the same way because I see them step out of the class once the dance routine starts and then come back when it's time to do the whole routine (a.k.a. THE performance). The warm up has been fun though.

Now everyone in class (I do Body Jam in 2 different gyms) are waiting for the Mix N' Match tracks and I remember one time when everyone said "FINALLY!" when the Body Jam instructor started off with a track from Body Jam 32. It's more fun doing 9 different tracks than sticking to the dance routines.

I just love the way Jam has just turned the corner and is becoming so much more accessible to all our members.  I have been teaching since release 22 and have seen many of the changes and how it has been greeted by participants.  I have to agree with some of the comments above - the first half always goes off but the second half seems to fall back a bit.  As hard as we try to keep the NRG up, many participants are missing the second peak and particularly the latin element.  They loved CHA CHA HEELS.  It would be great if we could get some of that in the second half and go completely off!  Loving your work though G.  You are a true inspiration - your teaching style and the whole feel of Jam is just amazing.  Jam is definitely experiencing a rebirth.  Thank you for keeping me and my members motivated.

JAM helped me bust out of my box in a big way. G, you are such an inspiration. Even though I could hardly follow along (release 34), I had sooooo much fun at the quarterly you taught at. As a huge step out of my comfort zone, I decided to get trained in Jam (so I could practice on my own). Release 35 was not as intimidating and 36 was much easier and enjoyable. But our gyms are all pretty suburban and, like me, most of the (day) particiapants are mid-aged moms who think they are going to humiliate themselves in class. How can we reach this clientele?

Hey Gandalf,

Have to say loved doing BJ 37 with you in Sydney! It absolutely rocked! I reckon Jam is the one that got the most attention, then again I could be biased...Loved the bonus chore and the new ‘twist’ to the usual hip-hop and raga style. It’s good to see a few different styles each quarter and the ‘afro cardio’ block and grown on me now ;) Yeah it was strange the first couple of times doing it but man it canes the legs. Only downfall can’t teach it for at least another 6 weeks. :( Oh yeah and kudos to the music choice! I love that kind of music and you had three of my fave tracks there! :)

I am a BJ instructor in the capital of our country and everyone loves it here. Classes are crowded since the new format.
Congratulations Gandalf!!
Catch ya at the airport when you´ll be arriving from Maringa, right?
See you there and enjoy your tour in Brazil.
