RPM comes out on top!

Hey all you RPM' ers! Just wanted to let you know that I entered my first MTB race in about a year and all was successful! The race www.colvilleconnection.co.nz was very tough over 44k's but the scenery was beautiful and the weather was perfect! At the end of the day I managed to pull out a win by 8mins! So, there's proof that RPM transfers to outdoor riding. Those double RPM classes that I have been doing a few times a week has paid off! I look forward to sharing more riding experiences with all of you. If you have any, please send them through!

Live and Ride Strong!

Great to see the RPM programme director leading by example and getting out to events!!  RPM, the music,  and the gym for that matter is a great tool to improve our fitness for use in events like this.  Crossing the fitness over is what its all about!

Will we see you in the Karapoti Classic Mtb race down in Upper Hutt/Wellington region in the future Dan??

Keep up the great work, loved the roller work in 29!

Cheers

Awesome job!  Good luck team RPM in the Tour of Northland this weekend as well!  We are jealous back here in chilly northern USA where we are still riding our trainers and kickin' it in RPM.

Here in PA we are using RPM to train our members for their very first triathlon this season!  I have no doubt that RPM translates to pure power and performance in our outdoor riding.  Keep up the great work you guys make our training fun!

Hey Lisa,

Great to hear that you are still on that bike, even if its indoors.  Today I begin my road racing season!  Looking forward to getting back into the racing scene - nothing like a little bit of competition.  Will never forget the ride that you took Glen and myself on!  It was scarey riding on the "wrong" side of the road!

Take care and happy riding!

Hey Lisa,

Is it beginning to warm up over there?  Here it is beginning to get cooler and raining a lot!  Love riding in the wind and rain - NOT!

Really enjoyed my first "comeback" race.  Glen also raced - it was his first race ever - he did very well - learning how to race in a bunch is quite a skill!  We averaged 40km/hr - very fast!  Both finishing in the lead bunch for our grade.  Can't wait to get into the racing season.

Don't feel bad about the hershey's = we did get to sample some whilst we were there :)   We were just so lucky to be able to go for a road ride with you!

Keep in touch - if you want to email us - would love to hear about the momentum team!  It is : glenandsarah23@yahoo.com

Take care

Dan,
Saw your pics from the race.  You are quiet the rider.  I just watched the education for release 31.  I am so glad to see such sound cycle based training.  I think the longer intervals and specific training such as the ILT's and the reverse ladder intervals as well as the sustained LT efforts will really benifit the instructors who don't come from outdoor cycling.
I paid a coach big bucks for very similar workouts and had great success with them.
I have been off the mt bike for almost a year since I had a compound-open radial/ulna fracture from a crash that did not seem to want to heal.  RPM has been my salvation and has opened a new door for me with group fitness.  I recently got back on the bike and had no problem clearing even the steepest of terrain.  Decending will be the last thing to come but my fitness level has remained high due to 3-4 classes per week.  I can't wait to do the "race of truth" workout so I can improve my base.  I hope to meet you at some events in N America(Mt. bike or les mills) You have inspired me to bring my competitive background in cycling to the gym setting and I am fitter and happier for it.

Out you go!
