    VOTE!! Best Shoes for BodyJam

I know there has been a lot of talk about the nike dance boots, but let's all chat on which shoes you have found are best suited for BodyJam.

I know there are the Nike shox for dance - thoughts?

I also got two nice pairs of spilt sole Reebok's called zenswa, which are great for pointing toes but no support.

spilt sole capezio - the tennis shoes looking ones?????

I'm fishing for thoughts, ANY ONE???

    Thank you,

    Virginia :)

I currently use the Nike Shox dance shoe and find them excellent.  I've had numerous shoes over the years including Bloch dance sneakers (a few pairs) and other Nike dance shoes and these are by far the best, providing the best support so far.

I vote for the Nike Shox as well. The best fit and support for my feet and some cool styles and colourways. Love the boots.

I love the Nike Women Musique line. They're marketed as dance fitness or cross-training shoes, but the circular treads on the bottom are a dead giveaway that they're awesome for making turns. Good cushioning too, and the toe protector really helped me get through release 44.

I vote for Nike Blazer Mid - nice and flat - little turn section under the ball doesn't stick to carpet - soft and comfortable like slippers!! I wont wear anything else... unless I have to...

Re: VOTE!! Best Shoes for BodyJam

I love Shox for everything, but I find them a bit too grippy sometimes for any blocks that have spins in them.

I often wear Adidas skate shoes. They have that hip-hop look and aren't *too* grippy. Mine are Metrum Vs:

I have a mental block about proper dance shoes with the split soles for BodyJam - I don't think they look authentic for any kind of hip-hop, krump, club, reggae, etc... Latin and Jazz, maybe...

I started to by Shox but someone told me they hurt their feet.  Do you think they're good for a person with flat feet?

If you post a link it goes in a queue to be approved. Google image search is probably quicker Wink

Similar topic, I have a question for you Jammers, as I know *nothing* about dancing.  One of my Combat participants wanted to know if she could wear her Jam/dance shoes to combat--- they are the kind with the big split, like it splits the front half from the back half (are you laughing at my ignorance yet?)?

For Combat, I prefer very very flat sneakers.  I exclusively wear Nike Free's.  They are great for lateral movement, as you don't have to worry about catching the edge, plus they are just superlight and comfy. But, Rach has worn Shox on the Combat DVDs, and other various sneakers that have a bit of a lift to them.

    What do you think?

If you're talking real dance shoes and not the dance fitness ones Nike sells, I think your participant would have a hard time with the lateral movement in Combat.. The front half and back half of the sole is pretty high and the split in the arch area means there's not a lot of arch support. She might turn her ankle.

Also there's the problem of cushioning since Combat has a lot of bouncing (pulses, for instance) and explosive movements (jump kicks, etc.). I don't know if regular dance shoes have support for such movements.

The Nike dance fitness shoes (which are in my earlier post on this thread) are great for Combat as I've used them in class already. Although the sole appears split at the arch, it has a low profile, good arch support, and the lateral mobility is great.

I always use Nike Zoom Danzante, but Ia have checked that REEBOK CLASSIC are better to do the house taps. They are thicker than Nike and my toes don´t suffer so much, jejeje

Agreed...I love the Nike shoes that are of the more casual lines....Im really loving the 87 Jordan Classics right now, although I just got them and they need a good quarter of dancing before they are "really" broken inStick out tongue

BTW...great job on the outfits this round
