Yes - I noticed that glitch in the DVD too. Hadn't heard any info about why... maybe when I attend the USA SE Quarterly this weekend I'll learn some info.

I, too, would like to know if Track 9 is off beat in the DVD: I thought I was crazy when I was watching it and trying to do it as they were doing it, but then when I did it without the DVD, it worked out fine, so I'm going with the beat. Overall, a great release, heaps of fun as Lisa would say; though she does get a little crazy in the agility track...more dancing around than agility, but she's having fun. Just noticed too that there are no superman's!

    Re: Bodyattack 61

Track 9 is off beat on the DVD (bad dubbing) so use the DVD to get a flavour of the track and then practice to music only.

Superman move is missing - true, not so disappointed with that but what about shuffles? Heel Jacks? Travelling knees? Guess you can't have all the moves all the time.

For me 61 is a disappointment.

Too many new moves in one release is confusing to the participants. There is a new move in each of the first 5 tracks.

Track 3 is too complex for its own good. Participants don’t know if it’s going to be 4 and 4, 3 and 2 or 6 and 1.Even if you pre cue as the track starts there is no point saying “x is coming up and it’s like this” because participants won’t remember when it happens.

Track 5 – only 24 push ups and a handful of triceps. A few releases ago we had 82 press ups in a track. Come on – this is ATTACK!

Track 7 on my disc is getting scratched next week. Hate the song. It's not a good one at best and I've just had 13 weeks of Combat with it. The routine is too easy and just a mess chorey wise – look at the shambles on the DVD. Guys hate it too, the moves are too feminine.

Track 10a, Just a nightmare for a male instructor.

I like the running track – straight in to a run is a good change. Track 8, good one to actually instruct the kick technique. Track 10b, great and tough at the end.

Anyway, there is my 2 cents…

I gotta disagree with you mrgtv. I love love love 61. I love the newness of it all, I love the changes, and I especially love how over the top Lisa went in the agility track. The last couple of releases have shifted the focus to the participants having some more fun, and I really think that it will help to take the "scary" out of attack! People looked into my studio when we where laughing & carrying on shouting during Freedom last release & thought "hey, that looks fun!" I actually had new people come & check out the class because of it. Of course like anything not everyone will like this release, but I am really looking forward to going over the top in "Can't stop the beat" tooWink

    Re: Bodyattack 61

Just got back from quarterly today, and while I already loved the release, I love it even more now. There may be some new moves, which I think is great to keep it fresh and interesting, but they are fairly simple to learn and the intervals repeat almost exactly in many of the tracks. The upper body may not have as many pushups, but if you stay on your toes the WHOLE time, and do the leg lifts correctly (small lifts, keeping the upper body so still), you are going to blast your core. It would be discouraging if all the pushup tracks had 82 pushups; again, good to have some variety. The agility was my least favorite, but after doing it today, I think the important thing is to just relax and have fun with it; technique is still important, but it's a time to let go a little and just enjoy the energy.  Black Betty totally rocks...a fun fast power track. So overall, it's awesome and I am sure supermans, knee lifts and heel jacks will be back in 62.

    Re: Bodyattack 61

I have to say im in the boat that is loving the new attack.  although I have my qualms about it.  Mainly hairspray.

it is just to much of a novelty track.  it is awsome to see how over the top Lisa goes in it, but even if Lisa hereself did that same routine everytime, it would get old.  it can be brought out everyonce in a while but not often.  the shine just wears thin too quick.  Especially after having it in BC for the last release.  Also, it is bad for guys.  not many men have that on thier ipod.  trust me.  (of course im in midland manly america)

BUT  i love the innovation.  For too too TOO long Attack was the same moves set too differetn music.  Every song followed the same style.  I know that the tracks have to do it a little bit, but thier was not much individulization.(spelling).  exp. in T3 was it going to be a set of knees, doubles and singles and then..... super, jack-----super, shuffle- ----or super, super? then basically repeat.

Track 3 is great for that.  Completly diff than other track 3's.  Thank goodness.  i love track threes but you need some spice.

T4 is great too  a little diff still and great music.  same thing with t8

i amjust loving the new styles!  i suppose some wont like right away, bc they want the same thing everytime, but for me....i love the spice!

     Great job Lis!

    Re: Bodyattack 61

Just wandered over from the Jam forum and had to put my 2 cents in. I just tried BA 61 today and it was wonderful. Really happy that the moves are different from the usual attack classes and the music was wonderful. Even though the moves were new/different, I thought it was easy to learn and remember (I live in Japan and don't get my classes in English so this is very important to me). I don't know much about attack other than I love to do it so, applause for whoever put 61 together. It was so much fun. Except........hairspray music. Only managed to last through 2 combat classes before I got sick of it. Attack will probably be a bit longer but not by much.

    Re: Bodyattack 61

I love this release. Although I was a bit scared to do track 7, as I wasnt sure how it would go down with the participants, but they loved it too.  A little chance for everyone to let loose and just enjoy themselves.  Love it.

    Re: Bodyattack 61

My 2 cents: Love 61 as a whole. As for track 7...all I have to say is, what happened to "Body Attack is no dance class!" from orientation? That clearly went out the window this time!

    Re: Bodyattack 61

hairspray is horrid!!! should never have been included in any release period! gawdddd Ick! attack is all about raw power energy sweat and exhaustion..not broadway dancing chorus lines!  I have to teach it for a time which it pains me to do...but once we can mix in old releases..hairspray is history!

    Re: Bodyattack 61

just got back from the presentation of BA61! Oh, so much fun!

Ok, so I love track 2 (I mean, I really needed a change from Rhianna's song and the fast arms... wasn't bad, just a tad repetitive.) and really love track 3. What a great change, and a needed one. Track 4 really hurt... maybe because I did a super intense BC class just before BA. :-)

Usually not a huge fan of track 6, this time I had fun... like the song as well... And then, track 7. Like the choreo, but... I've spent three months listening to the song :-( ... I don't hate it, I just... (I do three to four BC classes a week, so... "I want to be able to stop the beat")

Oh, and... yes, something was NOT right with track 9. I don't know if my instructor realized this, but, I trust my sense of rhythm and the music always, always marks a change in movement so well, and tonight I kept listening to the music and finding myself doing the jumping jack ... like, a third of a second before everybody else.

Anyways, in two or three classes coordination will get better, as it normally does, and I know I will be enjoying this release a lot.

    Cheers,

    M.
