Re: BV11, Track 6 - Les Mills team please research your music selections!
No not actually, you can't google life when I was back there in the 1960's, 70's, 80, 90's and today!
I have been watching Y&R since 1973. Days of Our Lives since 1970, B&B since 1987 (remember the first time Brooke and Ridge met.) Been watching General Hosiptal since 1978.
I do care what the original op is saying without frame reference to the scenes mentioned you can hardly put yourself in our place since most of us who watched it can have a framed reference to what happened to Luke and Laura.
It is much the same when Mikes wife (Margo) died of leukemia in 1980 (Days of Our Lives) if anyone did not fall apart and cry when that happened and the music behind appearing somewhere and remembering that scene it does and will lead to the same emotions bringing themselves back to the top and it did happen.
Music also has the same effect in other programs "Gabriel" by "Lamb" from Bodybalance 18. Was just s song to me till it appeared in CSI Miami at the end of one of the episodes it now has a different frame of reference to me now. It does happen!
I feel for the orginal OP.
Sorry :(

Really? Luke and Laura? I remember laughing about people getting so into it back THEN. To hold this close NOW?
Wow.
TV. Television. Made up. Not real. Keep that in mind...
FYI - I believe "Laura" is married in real life to "Will Riker" from Star Trek. Hope that doesn't rock your world too much....
On a side note - I'm not a vive-r, we don't have it nearby at all - but I love "Rise". It's a great song. I'd like to see it as a cool-down for Pump, maybe!

Ivica(Quokka)..and all of you..(if you read Quokkas first post here)..am sorting a freestyle class in my head..and one that I HOPE wouldn't offend even the thinnest skinned, or the beardy weirdy types addicted to living vicariously through TV.
So far, have a fair bit of the Sound of Music involvement..*yodels to herself*..thought a bit of Carpenters."I'm on the top of the world loookin' down(oh, damn people may get offended with "down")..bit of Mamas and Papas..all the leaves are brown, DAMN now I'm offending skin tones!!..and perhaps some Helen Reddy.."I am woman hear me roar"..gosh darn it!! That's plain sexist!!!..Rolf Harris??? well I guess I would be just plain crazy to suggest people tie down native animals....
This will be harder than I anticipated....
*all done with tongue FIRMLY inserted in cheek*
and errr, Rod, you and I are both 44..so you started watching melodramas at the age of 5????
Explains a lot if that's the case.

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! My Saturday afternoon is just getting better. Nearly had to mop the floor too after last post! (If you know what I mean) Funny....
Reading further back,I also find it hilarious that someone seriously addicted to soap operas would actually admit it let alone BOAST about it!!

Re: BV11, Track 6 - Les Mills team please research your music selections!
Hi I know that these people are playing actors on a show, that Genie Francis played Laura Webber, Diana Collville and that she also worked on As the World Turns she also was in North and South and thats where she met her husband and they are married. The thing is that we watch them and get involved in Soap Operas. There are hundreds and thousands of us around the world that follow them and watch them. It is a sub-culture, we love watching them and will continue as long as they are going. The whole thing is that we all watch TV get involved, like Dallas etc.. we all followed "Who shot JR" we all waited and waited till it came back on air and with gasps found out is was Sue Ellen's sister and were glued to our sets for 14 years watching Dallas and Knots Landing, Dynasty, Falcons Crest, The Colby's to name a few. Anyway I am off to another forum to talk about you guess it :) soap operas :) Cheers :)

Interesting that the OP hasn't come back to follow up their comment, or even explain their objection to the use of that track. The speculation about it's use in a dim distant TV show has not been substantiated. For all we know there could be some other completely unrelated negative association. It would have been helpful to have known this in advance and saved Rod some indignity, even though he is (perhaps pretending to be) oblivious. The OP was very typical of drive-by posters, who have little interest in sensible discussion, but are just after catharsis. In retrospect, this one would have best been left alone.
The forum member "pipera" is not a Les Mills Instructor, though his posts, signature and profile will claim otherwise.
Since he has been economical with the truth on his profile, read the real facts here.

But then we would not have had the entertainment value of a 44 year old claiming to have watched daytime soapies when he was around 13-15 years old. I guess he really did waste his school holidays :) Actually I just checked, that would mean he was watching days of our lives from the age of 5 :)

Re: BV11, Track 6 - Les Mills team please research your music selections!
my first Vive Class - warned by the instructor I probably wouldn't enjoy her mix
I'm every woman, man i feel like a woman, she got legs, it was a true tribute to feminism everywhere, and she was right. I hated it.
Not because I was immasculated, but because they were just crap dated songs. lol.
Everyone interprets the music differently, I'm amazed by the attention this gets, including the recent forum explosion on I kissed a girl and right round.

Re: BV11, Track 6 - Les Mills team please research your music selections!
Ok, you're talking about release 6 where most songs were "woman" 'themed. I always wondered how poor old Pete Manuel ( the sole male presenter) felt belting out tracks with words "I'm every woman" and THAT track by Shania Twain. Well, Vive was/is still in it's early stages and I guess playing around with different ideas such as themed releases is part of a module settling down and finding it's feet.
I happen to think the nautical- themed release 7 is the best one yet (with the BIG exception of track 1 "The love Boat.... What were they thinking?????)
Well, the cheese factor has been toned down considerably, so I hope you stick around for more Vive experiences!IMO, releases 10-12 are exceptional, so hopefully you can give 'em a try somewhere soon!
