    Re: BodyVive 13

I do agree with Patrick that there is some good innovation in the back half of the release :-)

I also think that as this is billed as Les Mills entry level program it's logical that there should be elements from the other programs, so I'm not dissing track 5 for having moves from Body Combat in it, I think it's a good idea. I just think track 4 is SO boring and not particularly intense and then you go CRAZY in track 5, the cardio tracks just don't flow anywhere near as well as they have in the last couple of releases...

Track 2 makes me GAG! Both the music and the chorey!

I like track 3, but I think for less experienced instructors it will be difficult to teach the direction of it and less skilled groups will struggle to mirror the instructor.  The chorey is more basic, which is good as I know LMI have had a lot of feedback that they need to calm down track 3 a bit, but working on the diagonal is hard for groups that are "challenged" when it comes to picking up new routines - it may turn some people off - which none of us want. It's going to take VERY clear cueing.

I think it's just a shame that for a release with such a strong back half, for me personally and knowing my participants, the reaction to the first half won't be anywhere near as positive as it has been on the last 3 releases.

But, as I said in my previous post, I do LOVE the music!!! apart from track 2 lol...

Boy, I don't check in for a few days and I have 2 pages of posts to read through!!!! Smile  Glad to see some life back in this place!!!!

I'm excited to see 13.  What I really want to know is this: Are the pushups on knees or toes?  Because if they are on toes, I have some practicing to do!!!!  Pushups have never been my strong point!!!!!!  Crying

Who were the presenters on this release?  And for those of you that were there...SPILL IT!!!!!!!  All this beating around the bush is annoying!!!! What exactly is hard to cue about track 3???   Like Maddy said, tell us EVERYTHING!!!!!!   Big Smile

    Hi Vive!

    Re: BodyVive 13

    Thanks for the feedback Paul!!!

Here's something that I do with every release that may help with these more "complicated" tracks.  I always use the class before a relaunch to go through all the moves with my particpants.  I call it "learn the new moves day."  I really use this time to go through patterns and directional cues slowly so they have a better oportunity to be successful on relaunch day.  I make a pretty big deal out of a new release so they feel like they can have fun with it if they aren't tripping over their feet as much!  It's dull to go through these moves without music, but whenever I give them the opportunity to skip the learn the moves day, they all beg for it!!!!  It sounds like I will really be using that day this time around to show how to work things directionaly!!!  I can also come out in the class and do the practice time with them so they don't have to figure out the mirroring confusion!!!!!  Maybe this idea will help some of you!!!

I do something similar - sometimes, if I know there is something that they will struggle with, I'll teach the 45min format and use the spare time at the end to run through new moves before launching!

    Re: BodyVive 13

Both great ideas guys... Me and the peeps often gather together in the coffee lounge or outside the GF room waiting for the prev. class to finish. This would also be a good time to chat about the upcoming new moves. Better than complaining about work, kids, the dog, the weather, various injuries etc like we usually do!

Wow, I've been dying to know what music is in BV13 and you have not disappointed me!! BV 12, although really good  and has grown on me, many of the tracks I hadn't heard of. BV 13 is the kind of music all my participants LOVE!! Can't wait to start teaching it!!

What a good idea. I'm going to do that. At the moment I'm inviting people to  go over BV bits they struggle with after the class in the corridor as the timetable is so tight!! Will try for BV 13 so thank you!!

I can only go from what's off the top of my head, but don't know if it's advisable to post it here yet (the folks at LMI might not be pleased)...

Ugh the anticipation is killing me! No track lists posted anywhere online (that I could find quickly at least, lol) for BV 13! I know I'm getting way ahead of myself (we have yet to launch 12) but I'm so addicted to these programs and it's just so exciting to see what's coming next. Big Smile

    Re: BodyVive 13

    Hi everyone

The excitement is nearly killing me. I should get my hot little hands on BV 13 next week. I'm excited. Our club has recently launched BC and I absolutely love it. I've been getting to as many classes as I can. I'd love to teach it... one day.... (I'm getting sidetracked Wink ) So, I'm excited that we have a bit of it crossing over to BV. Cant wait.

I just checked our Susan's clip about BV13 and it certainly sounds fun. I just hate the stress of getting ready for launches. I'm glad it sounds like we have a few new moves, I'm ready for some. Is Mark in the filming? I really enjoy it when he'd on our dvd. He always makes me laugh.

Going back to BV12, I loved most of it, they really did a great job of it. I really didn't like the first 3 tracks, but after that I really loved the rest. Was the best release yet.

Better go over my chorey for tomorrow.

    Hey Sassy!

Presenters for this release are Susan, Pete Manuel, and a girl named Michi from Japan. This filming was quite unique for a couple of reasons, which you'll find out when you watch the DVD.
