Hi Andy,
The rests are there for a reason. They allow weight changes, they also allow stretching Z-Lines etc... they are there for a reason.
In relation to chore changes they have set routines that are in place. The rationale is to be able to do the same class if you are in Berlin or New York. It is consistent marketing, the classes are trialed, and tested before they are released. It would not be cool if someone did something different and then go to another gym and someone did something different also. (Injuries could happen.) so they need to stick to what is presented to avoid nasty suprises like choreo change (injuries) you know to c&p and then deadrow (4 times) and this should be done the same a Glen says so.
I would prob suggest that your instructor was trying to push you further. I used to have an instructor who did that. They did the chore but at the end they pushed us with a extra hold or press to the end. I had another instructor who was pretty much exercise, change weights, exercise. No rests (class time schedule conflicts with the Bodystep class afterwards.) they had to finish so they can exit the room for the next class. We understood that and was no big deal. The class finished on time with 5 minutes to spare for packing away before the steppers came in.
In short, they changed the chore, the should have not.
Cheers!
Coming soon a new concept no one has ever done before and it has been in the planning for the past 4 years.
