    71 clothing

Is that the new clothing for BS?  Cute but looks awefully hot to wear for such an intense workout.  What's going on?  What about those "boots" the women were wearing?

eh its not the new clothing.....there is a disconnect tween the master class level and the real world level in my opinion. I had mentioned this on another thread.  ...and I still ask...as many many do...why do at the master class level do they insist on wearing clothing that is far removed from anything that is offered or that the everyday step etc. instructor would wear?  You see this clothing on the master dvd and you will see it if you go to quarterlies where the presenters/trainers get to wear it but not us groundlings.  I say offer it across the board or dont wear any special outfits at all please!  Marketing for lesmills clothing to instructors is the pits.

    Re: 71 clothing

Most of us here dress up for the release classes to make them special.  That could be the reason.  Keep it fresh and fun.  I go back to regular branded clothes when the "special" release classes are over.  I look at them as a Masterclass for the masses!

Clothes for men?  We don't have the variety but how far can you go with shorts and a t shirt .... LOL

    Re: 71 clothing

Eh... disconnect between the real world?? Can a participant walk into a clothing store in the real world and buy Les Mills clothing... NO.

Can a participant walk into a store in the real world and buy what we were wearing... YES

We were wearing nike clothing, girls had nike shox boots.  Come on guys loosen up, it's not like we were wearing crotchless pvc suits for goodness sake. I can walk into a GF class anywhere in the world and  normal everyday people will be wearing clothing similar if not longer and  baggier than what we wore.

Give us and our marketing guys a little more credit. When there's a new Les Mills Clothing range, of course we'll wear it. We've worn the current range on dvd once. I'm sure we'll get a hammering if we wore the range a second or third time on dvd.

We're not saying You Must Dress Like This. Wear what you like and feel comfortable in, we do.

Ok, i totally laughed at this!!  Crotchless pvc suits, just the image made me laugh.

Oh, interesting that the boots were nike's.  Who would have thought.

You know Mops is Mark, right??

His comment  made me laugh, too.

I loved the outfits on 71--This was my first release, so seeing the outfits (and the fog machine) gave STEP a whole new flavor for me.

I think the outfits are just another way to prove Step is a rockin good time--kudos to the directors and the marketing team.  Hopefully it inspired you to wear something other than traditional gym clothes like Under Armour, allowing you to bring a different kind of feel to your members (isn't that what we're here for??)

Honestly, I was a little bummed about going to Step training instead of Jam---but I'll tell you what, you won't hear me say that again! haha.

     Can't wait to see 72!

LOL!  Those boots have to go! LOL!    I'd KILL myself in those things.   I don't know how they wore them...as somebody else stated they looked so hot and uncomfy.  I didn't care for them at all.   They didn't look good on the girls legs....they were too bulky and distracting IMHO.

    Re: 71 clothing

Seriously, it's all about what you make it... we dress in normal gear for our regular classes, but for our launches we do our best to make it special.  I like seeing the different clothing on the releases but that doesn't mean we are going to use it.  Sometimes we pull from it to do our launches and other times we let the music guide us.  For example, when we launched 71 we decided to do 4 quick clothing changes, for track 5 we did a hat, sunglasses and "blingy" type chains for the whole rap look, we put it back on for "7"..... cheesey.... absolutely......for track "9", tequila..... yes we did!!!!! we put on the frills and fun with ruffely shirts and sashes.... go to my site if you don't believe it.  Remember Chiquita Banana.... all but the hat.... we weren't going there.  For Thriller, yep, ripped up shirt, black lipstick and under-eye makeup.  Quick changes, shirts over shirts, skirts over shorts, sashes around the waist, just quick and simple.... whatever it takes.  We pulled it off in under 57 minutes and the participants loved it.  Did we do it for every class?..... uh, no.  Once for each gym and everyone loved it.  Find what suits you, your participants and what is suitable for the release.  Be creative and dare to being different sometimes....
If you're gonna do it... do it right!!!!!

those poor boots gets such a bad rap   . . i have the black ones & i LOVE them !! they are the most comfortable shoes i have .. i use them for Combat, Jam & Step . They have great ankle support, are very flexible and they are not the hot. the back is mesh & breaths.  I love it so much , i'm planning on buying the brown ones.

We have gotten so my compliments from guys on those boots  . . .they say its sexy.

as for the outfit on the DVD  . .i love it too. It matched the urban feel of the release  .. i cant even imaginge doing this release withouth wearing slightly longer shorts because regular step shorts to me does not match the "feel" of it.

We wore black  shorts with gold trim ( to our knees) with a black top and a short ( ends right under the chest ) , with short sleeves , hooded jacket with the same gold trim matching the shorts . .and we got them @ Target so they were not as expensive as a NIke outfit . .

this is nuts.... we take cues of the videos on what to do four our launches and it one of the favourite things of the members.  they love it and always wonder about the new outfits.

So doyou just love to hate or dont have to courage to try something new?

a bit mean but oh well.

believe what you will.  there is  NO one who is wearing calf boots and street cred tee shirts to a regular bodystep class...if you wanna dress up for launches and etc that is cool ..knock yourself out. my point is that they wear this stuff on the vids and its nothing really that a regular member is gonna be wearing to a typical class...and more to the point it is nothing at all like what  a typical instructor is gonna be wearing at all either for that matter. Now if those on the presenter level want to be in a whole different world from the rest then so be it....yet  if they wanna wear that stuff then make it available to ALL the instructors not just the special group of presenters/trainers  was my point.

    Re: 71 clothing

I don't think they ever intend to make any of the clothing worn in the dvd's to instructors. Probably b/c it's too expensive to mass produce that much of it and they don't sell enough to make it back.   I think we can all agree that LMI's clothing is way too $$.  So, something tells me that the clothing worn in the dvd's is for those instructors in the dvd's only.  Not intended to be sold to all instructors.   They may look at it as each time they do a dvd it's like a "show" they want new and fresh designed clothes for each release.   I appreciate that and like it as it shows that they are putting something into the planning and look of each master class.   Think about it....if they did each master class with the same drab clothing or plain clothing on it would sort of take away from the special look of each master class.  The clothing has a lot to do with the look of the video.

Look at it this way, if you get to be in a master class on stage than you'll get to have the special clothing. LOL!    But, I still say those calf high boot/tennis shoe thingys have to go! LOL!
