Really sad - BB being dropped

One of the clubs that I teach at has decided to not renew their BBalance licence. I thought it was really sad as my class there is a Friday night, yet often I've managed to get pretty good numbers. I think part of it is a lack of understanding, I was told "don't worry we not advertising it as BB but as something else, you can still do what you do". I explained it doesn't work like that with BB, that I can only teach BB at licenced clubs etc. Also, emphasised that as it was a real shame, as it brought "balance" to the timetable, as there are no yoga classes there either, just a few pilates besides the various freestyle classes, the only other licenced class they have is BPump.

I will keep trying to fight to keep it, but don't hold your breath!

The same thing happened at my club.  We are only a small community facility and the licenses are expensive so we don't even cover our costs.  We now only have  body pump as well

It's very sad that BB is getting dropped - unfortunately the licences are expensive. I don't know why they don't have a sliding scale of licences based on the size of club. A massive gym pays the same as a struggling community centre.

It's not the same but try Googling "Free Style Fitness Yoga" - it is a freestyle version of Balance that requires no licences - it's a 2 day certification and if you already teach Balance it should be easy.

    I'm damned, I'm hot and I just can't stop

Thanks Roger. There is a FSFY course coming soon in my area, typical I'm already doing something that weekend. But I will look out for another one.

This club is jointly run by a foundation charity and the council, so understandable that they are looking after costs, shame BTS in the UK isn't more flexible, as the class loves BB. But I'll do my best to keep them happy.

Silver lining. I am going to teach BP in the timeslot instead. So gained a BP but lost a BB.

If anyone knows of any BB classes that need a new instructor in Reading, Berks please let me know!!
