Nike Free....yes.....go to www.nikefree.com & design your own!! I got a pair a few months ago & they truly do rock!! Great for demoing (sp??) the strike surfaces on you kicks. They fit, like Ace Ventura says...."lllllike a glove....."

    Hello shoe-geeks Stick out tongueWink

    Here's a questionlet for you...

I have high arches and over-pronate. A physio I saw for a little bit told me to wear arch-support shoes for exercise.
I'm coming up to needing a new pair of shoes to replace my "Saucony Stabil MCs" ( www.saucony.co.uk/shoe/shoe.php?id=27022?search=allp ). I'm a girl with narrow feet - which makes the arch-support thing more tricky!

Any suggestions? - I do BodyCombat, Fight Klub (like BC, but attacking a big yellow free-standing punchbag), Pump, Fitness Ball class, Pump, and am thinking of starting BodyAttack.
The comfiest and most wonderous trainers I've ever owned are my Capezio dance-trainers ( www.capeziodanceeu.com/webstore/item_detail.aspx?ItemCode=S000DS02A0MBLK105 ) - but I'm not sure that they give enough arch-support Sad.

    I'm looking at some shoes in a mildly covetous manner at the moment;
    - Earth Shoes
(not least because of their 'ethical' credentials, but also their assertions of posture/health/other benefits)
    http://www.earthshoe.com/catalog.asp?Gender=women&cat=8

    - Brooks Ariel
billed as being the best motion-control running-shoes on the market
    http://www.brooksrunning.com/prod.php?k=23680&p=BSI42199&%27%2E%24flash%5Fvar%5Fstr%2E%27=

    - Saucony Stabil MC
(I know they're ok, but it might be nice to have a change!)
    http://www.saucony.co.uk/shoe/shoe.php?id=27022

    - Asics Gel Evolution
(a lot of people in our gym seem to wear asics trainers)

    any suggestions?

Blimey - it took 4 DAYS for that to get through moderators  - all because of a couple of web-addresses that don't even come up as links!
That's got to be the slowest moderation in bulletin-board history! Sad Super Angry

    Re: Combat Footwear.

Hallo!! Yes that is a long time to get through the moderators... maybe they have a backlog at the moment...

Anyways.... what was i gonna say? oh yeah, shoes...

I have the exact same problem as you - high arches, very narrow feet, and a ridiculously long shoe size (10 1/2 in aus! don't know why, im not that tall!). So heres what was recommended to me... buy the most comfy shoes you have come across, and get insoles for them. the podiatrist does them for you! That way you can use your insoles for any shoe you want! Yay!

    Re: Combat Footwear.

I have been having terible shin splint pain. I read this post and decided to buy the Nike Shox. I have to say my shins feel better, but I feel a little off balance with these sneaks. My big toes seem to hurt now also from side kicks [pointing your toes down] I might try the Nike Free. but I am dissapointed with spending the money on these sneaks that hurt my feet.

    Re: Combat Footwear.

Yeah its really hard finding shoes that suit your feet... and to make things more difficult they can feel very different when you are exercising than they did in the shop. and shoes are NOT cheap... I hope you find the right shoes crush Hmm

I think I will go out and get the Free's. Hopefully they will help.

    Re: Combat Footwear.

Well i went and bought a pair nike free 7.0 this week at a cost of £60. I have to say I don't think they're for me.

OK I Get the word FREE but my feet are all over the place in them and they look like a pair of boat shoes they're that wide at the front. I told the guy in the nike store what I wanted them for and he said they'd be perfect. Yes, my feet feel like they're weightless in kicks and I seem to flick my roundhouses out easier (although that could be psychological that I have a pair of gravity-defying shoes on) but my feet felt hot in them from just trying to not slide about in them.

So I'm back to my old adidas running trainers but really need some new ones as they're getting a bit shabby now.

    Re: Combat Footwear.

Bought two pairs of Nike Free 7.0 whilst on holiday in Japan - the running version and the trainer version. The thing that I like about them is that you can be more accurate with the kicks, they're light and good for times when you need to bend such as when resetting for the ESK. Let's see how they rate with BC#32 classes coming up next week....
