Right from my start from BA 49 I had Adidas, Adistar something.. (Running shoes), never had any problems with them. It were great shoes!! I had saucony for a month, but I really didn't like them, I got pain in my anckels so I bought a new pair of the adistar collection, and again I really loved it, the first time i felt like I was flying through the attack class!
PaulaLM: Just a question: What shoes do you wear for BodyAttack? I thought I'd throw this out there to the masses after reading about stress fractures and shin splints.

I thought I'd throw this out there to the masses after reading about stress fractures and shin splints.
Re shin splints etc, a well-respected presenter told me years ago that those with a smaller calf muscle require more stretching to remain injury-free than those blessed with the more bulbous gastrocnemius (eg our prog director).
I was wondering if anyone has tried Vibram Five Fingers for attack?
I understand that there is a transition period required for changing to this type of shoe but I find during the split the room track, my feet push out sideways and eventual distort my shoes (asic gel 140tr) even though they are a good fit.
Before last week I used some very good Adidas Running Shoes (A3) for Attack but I felt that when moving sideways and making all those Attack moves that they weren't the best choice (I only do Attack for about a month and half). I guess I can confirm some of the previous posts about Running Shoes not being the best choice for BA.
I just bought me some Adidas Megabounce Shoes and what a difference a new Shoe can make! The Shoe has a much better cushioning, it's more stable and it really supports me. Also while I didn't have pain before I think recovery time after BA is shorter than with my old shoes (but maybe that's only my imagination).
So I can only recommend Adidas Bounce (with full bounce sole)... of course that's only my opinion.
ok so have any of you US instructors have tried this shoes...

I emailed them and asked if they had a recommendation for high impact excercise, lots of lateral moves, jumps and what not...
and they recommend me the Spira Elite... so if any one has check this shoes out.. let me know... right now i am out ot teaching BA... tibial stress fracture..... argh!!!!!!!!!
i wear street-dance shoes (Sansha - skazz) i usually bought in dance studios for BJ & BC... XD (i know..)
i have not try out BA... tonight will be my 1st BA class, i got no other shoes to wear, wish me luck...i think it should be fine... ^^
am fine with those shoes... but my ranking of awesome-awesome is...
1.BC
2.BJ
3.BA
minxymia:I've tried every thing from cross trainers to running shoes, and have been told tennis shoes are the best. I would love to know a good brand of shoe to buy as shin splint hell is nasty.
I've heard only good things about PUMA shoe-less running shoes. I would love to try shoes like Puma L.I.F.T. or Puma SpeedCat. They are supposed to prevent shin splints, but they don't even come close to a Size 16 US Mens, so I'll never know...
