Fav tracks: #3, #6 and #7!
Just did the whole release today.
The capoeira track is awsome and the muay thai track is AWSOME also!!!! LOve love it!!!!
Still the 41 # is the best for me because I like kicks and there are no many in this release.
The start of this release is so so from my viewpoint. 41 # was much more dynamic for the beginning tracks..
The muay thai track in this release has officially been slaughtered in front of my eyes.
Today, I had a class with the only instructor at our club I honestly consider "bad". He has the tendency to drop in English cues like "uppercut, jab" et cetera, which I dislike, seeing as not only is his pronounciation appalling but I'm also pretty cure it can confuse the participants who are not fluent enough at the language / do not recognize martial arts terms. Well, turns out I'm never gonna complain about that petty stuff again, since today he thought it would be cool/motivational to yell: "UNLEASH THE FORCE! UNLEASH THE FIRE!! USE THE FURY IN YOUR SOUL!"
(IMO this would already be ridiculous enough if we lived in an English-speaking country. But we don't.)
Yeah, that's what I call how to kill a great choreo because that track is just perfect to me
He forgot to cue you : UNLEASH THE HULK YOU HAVE IN YOU LOL

Hmmm... any instructors out there know if that que is from the DVD? I think it would depend on how well the que was delivered - some people could pull it off really well. Having come from an English speaking country and now living in a non-English speaking country, I appreciate any English that the instructors use! As well, terms like "uppercut" and "jab" are also used by instructors here and the peeps have learned very quickly what they mean. Not a big deal. Gotta give the guy an "A" for effort.
I agree about the "uppercut", etc. That's what they are as far as that instructor goes, and probably when a person is mid-class, especially during an exciting track like that, falling back into your native language is something that happens all the time. Honestly, that seems like nitpicking, as does their accent/pronunciation. I've been a participant in classes where people have accents/etc that are different and it's really not that big of a deal - I know the gist of what they're saying, so it works out fine. Give the guy a break, as well as an "A" for effort.
I don't remember those words in the DVD - although I'd feel pretty silly saying them. I'm sure I've said other "motivational" cues in the heat of a great track 7 (or 3, or 4,,,,, or ..... ) that have been a little over the top. Although "Unleash the fury in your SOUL" is pretty wild!
Of course, now you know it's going to just pop out of my mouth sooner or later....

English is not his native language. Of course I'd understand it if he came from an English-speaking country (we have two instructors, one Bulgarian and one Australian, and they use both English and Finnish during their classes), but this guy is 100% Finnish - just awfully fond of using English. This is what bugs me about it.

Just think of it as payback for JFK's "Ich bin ein Berliner" or a daft number of Europeans who get Chinese symbols tattooed on them without realising it translates to "I am a tosser".
Am I the only one who would love a Combat instructor to yell "UNLEASH THE FORCE! UNLEASH THE FIRE!! USE THE FURY IN YOUR SOUL!" because it would reduce the class to hysterical laughter?
"UNLEASH THE FORCE! UNLEASH THE FIRE!! is ok to me but "USE THE FURY IN YOUR SOUL!" is a little exagerated and weird. I would definetely have a big smile if I were there.
Sofja, do you think, his aim was to make the class smile??
If it was the purpose, then the goal is acheived
hahah, I don't like this kind of instructor at all...
Anyway, focus on your workout..
sofja:Not sure. I wouldn't think so. He's such a poser, anyway - spends 45 min of a BC class walking around the room and screaming stuff like we're in the army and the rest 10 min actually showing the moves with the physical force of a person who's handling a frail china doll.
AUGH. SBG punches from a guy are lame. (Sissy Baby Girlie, fyi)
Now I understand your irrititation.
LOL, having so much fun reading this thread..
Lovin' the BC42, give us more like this one, D 'N' R!!
Well, have to say that this is, for me, one of the weakest releases D&R have done to date... which is a shame because it also has one of the best tracks in BC ever too.
Warm-up is unbalanced (quite a bit more on the right leg than the left for participants), Combat 1 and 2 are pretty bland (sweep just doesn't flow IMO). It's a good job that track 6 makes up with seriously good music and choreo and ultimate pain to take your mind off the first half of the class!
Roll on 43... such a shame cos I actually love the music in 42!
