    Re: Body Jam 50

    Nemesis:

...the Latin section(s) of this release and past one's really seem to be lacking.

The whole first 5 tracks just seem like one really big warmup and it just seems like there is so much more that could be done with Latin than just these re-hashed moves that we seem to see in the Latin choreo of Jam.  Or maybe it's just not fast enough?  I think of the Latin songs from 34 and 37...Cha Cha heels and Samba dream...those latin tracks really kicked one's butt I felt and we're so much fun to do.

You might just be pleasantly surprised when you see Jam 51 Wink But I'd have to agree with you that the Latin sections usually don't have the "longevity" that the other sections have. For Jam 50 I mainly see it as a fun way to start the class...

    Re: Body Jam 50

Smile  I'll say this much that this first part latin section is definitely better than the most mind-numbing beginning of 47...UGH, can you say step touch, step back...zzzzzzzzzz

After watching a zumba class on youtube that was done in south america somewhere, there really are some amazing latin moves that could be encorporated.  Time will tell as I know I certainly couldn't chorey anything like this so looking forward to 51 then.

    Re: Body Jam 50

The Latin blocks have been hit or miss for a very long time. The two that I have liked in recent memory were 42 (?) : The one with the J-Lo " Let's Get Loud" track and the Samba block from 46 ( I think).

I'm not sure what the stumbling block here is either: there must be some good Latin inspiration available. My thinking is that the idea is that the easy and repetitive steps might be the way to hook Zumba participants and keeping the Latin block easy is a good idea because the other blocks are much more difiicult? That makes sense as a way to ease participants into an increasing level of difficulty.

I'll keep my mind open for 51... here's hoping that G finds some good music and new moves ( no more stompy hip roll pivot step!!!) for the next few. There are other ways to get down in a Latin dance, I promise.

    Finally, of course!

In general to dance to, everything except the Cardio Funk.

Otherwise, I even like the music from that block, just to listen to.

    Re: Body Jam 50

I'm just back from our BJ50 launch which was a great success.  Hard to say yet from just seeing it once, but I really like the whole release.

The Latin section is very, very easy, but the Pit Bull - You know I want you number is soooo gutsy.

Recovery is very easy also, but as usual it will separate those that got funk in their blood from those that don't.

The second half left me all crossed up at times to the point I stopped to watch a young lady that was just phenomenal.

I don't remember the cool down at all except at one point I wondered if it was still going or not.

We just added another BJ class to the schedule, and I can't wait to try the back half again.  I got most of the parts, it was just linking them together.....

    Re: Body Jam 50

I like it! Complex enough to make people feel like they're getting something, easy enough for them to get. High cardio, which is what we're going for. Music is fun.

Only part I don't like is Mambo everywhere. LOL! Too disorganized.

I'd be able to do this if my knees would just work already. Surgery was almost two months ago...ugh!

Me too!  I can't find the "feel" of this move yet.  Seems one footed.

    Re: Body Jam 50

I'm just sick of that move in mambo everywhere...please, let's not see that anymore for a while please!!!  There must be other latin options out there besides this one...which seems be the b-jam generic latin step nowadays.  If we can't think of what to do in a latin track just throw in the mambo everywhere move.
