You have a CD/tape loaded in the player. You start the class and then you discover that they are un-coordinated, un-fit and what you planned is not going to work. You have one CD and the class has started.

You cannot stop the class you have gone past the point of turning back.

So what do you do then?

You IMPROVISE mate! That's the whole point of freestyle, it is adaptable..

Most movements in freestyle are taught from a base that anyone can perform and then you add in your layers and more complicated movements. If you have a beginner group you just don't put on as many layers! Simple as that.

If you don't teach or participate in it, don't comment on what you think it "might" be please, you make the rest of us look bad.

I am in the process of constructing a 12-week freestyle class x 3 (6 months) I plan on marketing the class to 2 seperate client bases one is un-condtioned and the other is conditioned participants.

The aim of the classes is to bring exercise to the participant in an outdoors setting or in a GF room.

The course should be up and running by Feb 2010 :)

    Cheers!

Best brush up "how to" then...it does appear your grasp on the concept is a little grey shall we say?

    This could prove interesting.

(edit)..if you are genuinely planning to present class/es to people, I really think you should head off and book yourself into a refresher..get yourself back up to speed so that you present freestyle as it is meant to be.

To do less would be an insult to those of us with a successful history and present following.

This by no means takes away from my/our LM commitment..great programmes indeed, we can work alongside each other..but Rod, please for the sake of writing, planning, being able to adjust as required..update your skills, refine your delivery, technique and coaching.

(sorry I can't figure out the "quote" thing - I am a exercise person not a computer person!)

uuummm... is "constructing" the same as "choreographing"?!?!?  well then you better not call it "freestyle" according to your definition freestyle being going in w/ a cd & smile!
