    UPSKILLING

Has anyone ever did the upskilling education?  I'm from PA so I'd be driving a bit and need to get a hotel because Quarterlys are the next day?  Can someone point me in the right direction.

I've not done it, but I've talked to some of the national trainers that teach it and they told me if I ever wanted to be great at teaching BP, that's the way to go.

If you're talking about the 4 hour intensives given the day before the Quarterly, then yes, go for it. I did one of those a few weeks ago - in fact, I did both BP and BC (since I was there....) and they were VERY different and both VERY helpful. I was lucky enough to have Megan Peterson teach the Body Pump intensive, and she was incredibly informative, helpful, and was open to questions on just about any part of being an instructor that you could think of. If you need more info, feel free to shoot me a message.

Yes---I got to do it with Susan Toji...so lucky!  It is worth the time and money (if you didn't just go to training).  I thought it was more useful for those of us who have been teaching for a time and just needed a refresher on technique, cueing and and communication.  She nailed me on deadrows going just to my knees--they were a bit below like an inch or two.  But if the instructor is off a little, particpants will be off a lot!!

I did a BODYSTEP upskilling with Mark Nu'u. It was awesome. I highly recommend it to become a better instructor.

They're coming up again, so I'm thinking I'll do BODYPUMP this time with Sheldon McBee!

Go to the Blog section of this website - there's an article on the Advanced Instructor Modules.  I think this is what you're asking about.
