    Extreme BodyBalance/Flow class

What tracks would you use for an extreme bodybalance/flow class?  I have releases 32-45 but started on 41 and only know a few tracks from the earlier releases.  Here’s what I’m thinking?  Suggestions? Does this go against BodyFlow essence?

    1-rel 45 Hyenas

    2-rel 44 Desert Rose

3-rel 44 Heart of the Matter

    4-rel 36 Because we believe

5-rel 45 Apple of my Eye

6-rel 43 I love to move in here

    7-rel 41 Amazing

8-rel 45 You Make it Real

    9-rel 39 Glory Road

    10-rel 44 L’Origine du Ki

I may be in the minority on this, but I think the idea of an "extreme" BODYFLOW class is so far outside the essence that somewhere at this very moment, an instructor lies slain over the very idea of it Wink

Thankfully for all of us, there are no tracks in BODYFLOW that lend themselves to "extreme-ness." Some are more challenging than others, but none are 'extreme.'

I certainly hope not - BodyBalance/Flow is ALL about hard work so the idea of choosing tracks which work you to the extreme sounds great!

I like the fact that the OP has included a meditation track though - can you have "extreme meditation"? If so then I think I'd have to go for the brainwaves track... LOL

I AGREE!! i asked my instructor if there was like a body balance "master class" for the hard core balancers... i'd LOVE a challenge once in a while from balance, a class that was (and i quote) "full *** off style" stuff that i cant even do.... that'd be AWESOME! just knowing that there was an "extension" of the program would be enough, i'm not saying i want to do it every time i do balance, or even every week... but once in a while would be nice... :)

I have to agree with thefitnessguy on this one.  Extreme BB/BF simply doesn't compute.

I'm no fan of BF because so much of the essence of yoga has been lost in it.

You should be able to find personal satisfaction in each step of your journey, each pose.

Struggling is optional, but anyone going into the class looking for a struggle is missing the point.  Why?

Because yoga is all mental.  The physical is simply the environment in which the mental occurs.  If the environment is extreme, then the mental can't occur.  It would be like trying to rake leaves in a windstorm.

If you are looking for a challenge in meditation, try a different pose = lotus, half-lotus, simple sitting position.

Back off if it isn't fulfilling.

This may be true - but there are many many forms of Yoga that have developed over thousands of years - and different people get different things from it. Some choose to immerse themselves in the mental, some choose to immerse themselves in the spiritual, and for others it is nothing more than physical exercise.

Body Balance is an exercise to music class aimed at giving people a physical workout - they come to be physically rather than mentally challenged.

To get back on topic I think the current release it pretty full on to be honest - certainly the most "extreme" release for me for a while.

i pretty much totally agree with this mix as far as this is concerned, however, i think that standing strength from 45 (crack the shutters by snow patrol) is more intense than india arie :) that however, is just my personal opinion, apart from that NIIIIICE mix :) it's near my perfection, i LOVE desert rose, gotta have the commando crawl in Moby apple of my eyes, nice nice NICE!! good job :)

roger, i agree, balance IS exercise to music, i think there is no problem with the concept of "extreme" body balance, because body balance isn't yoga and yoga isn't body balance and calling either the other is an insult to both!! lol if you're still with me! YES there are yoga-like movements in balance, but it also incorporates tai chi and pilates which makes it UNIQUE, and they could choose to do whatever they wanted with the program... inclusive of making it "extreme"

I agree.  I know BB has become a far more intense workout in the last half-dozen releases but this track was the first that had me thinking 'WTF? I'm actually struggling to hold this pose'.

Tell Me About IT!! omg, lol i must have a very short memory... as we went back and did 45 top to bottom last week, and i was like "wtf i dont remember this being this hard. wtf." lol and standing strength almost killed me... and that never happens!! although... i HAD just done 60 thrusters in a circuit before hand, but still!!! it shouldn't have gotten me like that! :)

    Re: Extreme BodyBalance/Flow class

I've done a couple of really quite tough mixes in the past and they actually tend to work quite well. You just melt into the stretches in the twists and forward bends at the end.  You really notice the difference.  I have no problems with the idea of an extreme body balance, don't know if you would call it that, but there is something to be said for pushing people that little bit further than what they normally would be.  So long as options are given, it shouldn't be an issue.
