    What happened to hovers?

I note in a completely unrelated thread, it was mentioned that hovers have been taken out of RPM.

I used to do 3 RPMs a week up to about 2 years ago but had to stop due to work/time pressures. I remember being cued to do them back then, so presumably this is a fairly recent technique change.

So, for the panel, when and why were they dropped?

On a release about 2 years ago they explained that the risk for knee injuries outweighed the benefits of the move. On some releases within the past year or so they have added the Pullback Climb which I really like and some of my members get soooo excited about. Very efficient at targeting the hamstrings and glutes.

Hovers have in fact become obselete and should be replaced with the pullback climb - although I know of 2 classes with 2 different instructors who cued the hover this week ....

I think pullbacks are gone also :( My class loves them too. They all grunt when they come back and lock the abs on.

They have been missing for the past two releases. I wish they would explain 1) if they are indeed gone and 2) details as to why so we can pass it on.

Since it was posted a few months ago in this forum that we should introduce the newer moves into the older releases, it would make sense to me that the hover and/or pullback be replaced with power climb. Thoughts?

When they introduced the pullback we were told to replace the hover with it.That made that transition simple and we KNEW what to do. I just wish we had more direction as to what to do with the pullback now. Does anyone know if it is in 45?
