I can't believe no one has posted about the new release yet...
I'm not going on the QW til the end of next week.
Have any of you guys seen it yet?
There have been loads of posts about the other programs, but what about Vive?

Sorry Paul, I've had it for a couple of weeks but don't actually release it for a week or so so haven't really looked at it other than a quick one to see what's in it. From memory it looks good. Will start learning this weekend, one of our instructors said it's great and can't wait to release, if that's any help! Next release I'll promise to look at it in more depth and report. That will be at the end of April as Australia's has it's Big Fitness Convention, Filex '08 at Darling Harbour, Sydney. Anyone going? Would love to meet up and actually see the faces to those on the Forums.
There must be other instructors from the Sydney area that have already released BV6, come on give us an update or your opinion on it.

Wow, BV 6 is fantastic! We have been doing it for a few months here in Canberra. And I will be training in it in late March. I don't want to give too much away if you have not seen it yet.... But I love the 'line dancing', doing the 'Locomotion' and 'Man I Feel Like A Woman' and 'Let's Get Loud'. The strength tracks are great- fantastic leg work. I'm a bit bored with the 'Rise and shine'. But I believe that this is the best release of BV!!!
Go BODYVIVE! I can't wait to see more of BV in the future.
I'm going to Sydney for the big FILEX super workshops. See you Aussies there.

I've done it at our KL Super Workshop with Tracy Minnoch and Dione Ware.. I loved it then... I watched the DVD... Still loving it!
The moves are really 'friendly' (if I may call it that). The intensity definitely has gone up... Not that it's a bad thing.
Only one thing, the Interactive Cardio... If you have like less than 10 members... It's a bit strange to be doing it.... Hi Vive!

BodyVive 6 has done it again what a fun release and great workout.
Rise and Shine, ok warms up the body nothing too exciting,
Connect and Go, moves suit the lyrics, chuggachug arm lines just like the locomotive wheels.
Dance Cardio, Love the box grapevine, ooops sorry grapevine turning sequence, always loved it in freestyle classes too.
Interactive Cardio, fun fun fun especially if you have someone who just can't follow instructions, you know the one that always goes the wrong way. Add to the fun factor, believe me. Oh alextrg, if there aren't many in the class do it individually and get them to power walk to the back of the room and return.
Fitness Cardio, pretty energetic but not too much with the option to step touch instead of pony (little triple jump side to side), guaranteed to please.
Tai Chi & Yoga, beautiful relaxing, awesome butterfly move,
Balance & Leg strength, step aside Fred Astaire, here come the Bodyvivers!
Biceps and Shoulders, beats pump anyday, great track.
Strength 2 Hips, Man you'll feel this one but it's great,small release at the end of the track will be appreciated.
Ab strength, not my favourite it's ok.
Back CAre, does the job.
Release & Restore, love the tubes for the leg stretches and love the hip flexor stretch finishing off as we started with the butterfly.
This release is good and choreography is really easy to learn, nothing hard with this release except the amount of effort you put into the workout. Enjoy.

Yes I do agree with you there alextrg, but I did tell my male participants one regular and 3 on and off depending on shift they work, they were to sing "Woman, I feel like a man" and "I'm every man", they laughed and said who cares it's the chorrey that counts not the song. There you go!

OK, well, I've taught it once and I love it! Those of you who've read my posts know that I've had issues with the quality of the QW's over here in England, but I'm pleased to say the QW this time around was better, just... We also got some really neat tips about teaching the options and a few other bits and bobs... Have been on BLAH and registered my feedback, overall I gave the release 8 out of 10... I know the choreography needs to be easy to pick up, but I felt a couple of the tracks were too repetitive, especially track 4... But, other than that, I thought it was great!!! A couple of the tracks didn't grab me at first, but they've really grown on me as I've been listening to them over and over as I've been learning the release... I think it's great that Susan and the team listen to the feedback we give them and you can see the program evolving with every release!

It is the best so far, indeed. Still too many Repeaters for my taste. I wonder if Susan T. had Woman's History/Herstory month in mind when she put the music together... As stated in another post, now there just needs to be a better transition form cardio to strength, like maybe another less intense track after track 5? Susan, can you hear us? :) (Time to get out the Yental soundtrack... speaking of, we need a Babs track soon!) This is truly, imho, the beginning of a new, and mature, BODYVIVE®.

Happy Easter everyone!
I too think BV 6 is the best so far. Having made the transition from participant to instructor with this program, I find repetition a positive thing. I think it gives people plenty of time to get the moves, rather than having to change sides or moves before they have got the hang of it. Also think it's possible to add 'variety' within the same move - plenty of time to demo different intensity levels, as well as adding the benefits of what we're doing (I struggle with actually getting these things out, as well as the chorry at the same time, so any extra time is a bonus for me!).
For me, it is the first one that I find flows beautifully, from track 1 to 12. Love the Tai chi between the cardio and balance tracks. Took me a while to appreciate track 8 - thought it was long and boring, then I had an 'aha' moment and saw what an incredible work out it was - eccentric/concentric/isometric contractions; varying ranges of motion, different muscle groups - and all within the same track. I would love to be able to get this across to the participants but find it hard to! This is such a clever program without people realising it - really innovative movements which I think shows 'thinking outside of the square"!!

The very first bv class i took (last week) was number 6 based on what you've written here. I can't do the ab crunches because I'm very large and leaning my head forward cuts off my wind pipe so I stop breathing but I can do a lot of the other parts of the class (unlike most LM classes where I can only do about 10% of the moves due to my body shape). I love the marching part of the bv class, it always makes me laugh and I march down the back end and get it wrong - and i'm very unco so I tend to get the grapevines wrong and turn at the wrong time. I like the repetition but there are too many knee repeaters and a friend of mine has knee injuries and struggles because the class seems very leg based. I LOVE that you get to use all the equipment and almost get to interact with other members (could we do a ball throwing segment one day where we toss to each, do a move and then toss the balls back again?). The leg bits are hard for someone of my shape and weight to do, and it would be easy enough to interact with other class members if we could do those leg lifts using each others feet as props (do you remember playing bicycle legs as a child with a friend, where you would both lay down with legs facing each other, plant your feet together, and 'ride like the wind'?) - ooo ride like the wind would be a good song for vive too! Anyway, this is the only class of LM that I have felt confident doing, and felt that I really wanted to go back again. The other classes that I do, I do because I know I have to keep trying, but I haven't the passion for them - they are far beyond my own capabilities at this stage. But BV lets me do option 1 and 2 and in one place, even option 3. I love it. And if what I did was 6, then 6 rocks! I need to use the barre for the balance section because I am too heavy to balance on one leg but I do what I can using only the bands before I fall over, but the class is so full of vibrancy and fun.

Hey December, glad to see you here ... and so pleased to see you're enthused about BV! Hopefully other more experienced people than me will be able to add some pointers about specifics you raised.
Just some things come to mind: Knee repeaters - option could be taps (don't bring the knee up in front), keep the movements small and don't sink low (having said that, for your friend with knee injuries, I think she should double check with the instructor she should be doing the class - even though there are modifications to the moves, some injuries can still be aggravated and she may need a clearance to do the class); Abs - lie on the floor - head, shoulders, hips all on the floor, knees bent and ball between the knees, feet remain on the ground and lift/tuck pelvis/hips a little off the floor and back down again (squeeze your butt and ball) instead of full on ab work (ie, roller ball and pilates 8) ; Balance - tap down (ie, keep toe of leg that's 'lifting' on the floor and tap on the floor either way instead of whole leg off the floor. Hopefully you can talk to the BV instructor to explain more. I'm only new at this, so other people may be able to help with the options. My theory is as long as people are moving, are safe and enjoying themselves, then it's a great and effective class for them. I have yet to see a whole class get the grapevine and marching thing all in the same direction, but they do laugh and enjoy themselves. For me, once I find a class I have a passion for, I'm gone, hook, line and sinker! Please keep letting us know how you're going.
Oh, other BV's have different 'ball throwing' stuff - hopefully you'll get to see some older releases which have some innovative uses of the balls!
