    How many BJ sessions per week for weight loss

    Hi

    I have been doing body jam for a few months now and am much more coordinated and fit than before but still the same weight.   I have tried other types of exercise eg: pump but find myself looking at the clock hoping it will hurry up and finish.  I love bodyjam, it doesnt feel like exercise at all.  Is it possible to outdance what I eat, I dont want to diet but would and could do bodyjam everyday if I could still eat what I want (within reason) and keep fit and hopefully lose a couple of kilos along the way.  I am currently doing 4-5 BJ classes per week, is this enough to burn off average food intake or should I do more?   from a chocaholic who doesnt want to give up chocolate eva!

    OK, I'm not a personal trainer although I am a seasoned gym rat/dancer... if your eating habits are reasonably healthy ( and I love chocolate too) and you are doing BJ 4-5 times a week, you're going to stay healthy. Yay!

    If you are looking to change your body in some way ( tone it up, drop some pounds etc) you are going to have to tweak either your diet or your exercise plan. My suggestion is to switch out some of your Jam time with different cardio that you like, just to challenge your mind and body.

    Also you might want to add a couple of strength training sessions to your week. I'm not talking about Pump. I mean get into the weight room and do some strength training circuits. I'm sure that you can find someone to help you plot out a couple of routines that will take you 30 minutes if you are efficient.

    And keep jamming!

    I hear the weight game all the time...

    i reccommend not to look at the numbers on a scale...but more how your clothes fit and how u feel!

    that being said... resistance exercises and weight bearing exercises are great to prevent osteo!!!

    I would mix it up a bit, and YES i reccommend Body Pump, Body Step, Body Jam, Body Combat, Body Attack,RPM, Body Vive, Body Flow!!!!! All the programs are incredible!

    thanks for your quick response, its enouraging to hear that what I am doing  so far is keeping me healthy, I guess I know i should mix it up a bit  but was hoping I could get everything I need from BJ.    thanks again!

    Thanx rachzelk 4 opening this thread, I was wondering also and going to ask!

     

    Its the same for me, I've been attending BJ & BP for about 4 months now and I havent lost weight, maybe 2 kilos only, but I got shaped a little bit, and I was a bit disappointed about it.

    But now am happy cuz I really enjoy these 2 classes! "even though I attend 2 BJ & 2 BP classes per week due to my study schedule >.<"
