I guess my first question would be have you taken flow classes on a regular basis. Is this the reason you want to become a BF Instructor? If you have you must have some idea how you go in the balance track. I'd imagine some times great other times not so good.
I've been instructing Balance/Flow for 4-5 years now, I too am flat footed, it is just that you have to work a little harder to maintain your balance I have found adjusting my foot placement to where I feel most comfortable helps me when doing the balance tracks. As mentioned above some days my balance is perfect and the next not so good, but very rarely is it bad, remember you can always show the low option days where you feel your balance is going to be compromised. So YES you can do it!
Good luck, if you do decide to take Flow Training, it is a great programme and you'll not regret doing so. Let us know how you go.
Keep the Flow!

traveller69:You don't have to teach a program to enjoy the benefits. Just follow the class and then you can see for yourself if you like it.
Yes and no. I learned Body Balance since its intro to Taiwan 7 yrs, but not unitl 3 years that I was luckily to be trained as an instructor.
It was a totally different way of experiencing BB. A real life-changing one for my story.
I did not know it was so hard on stage. When I was a student down there, I always had fun, especially making fun of the wrong cues, moves, or side from instructors. Not unitl as I step food on stage, until I realize that there are so many element to control when I am leading the class. Everything can go wrong.
But of course you should not try to be a lousy BB/BF instructor. You should be an ambassdor of body power and mental will. For me, only when I feel my love too much to burst if I cannot share it out with you, then I took the initial module training.

Of course it will be totally different when you have the lead and must perform on stage. But the topic starter has not even followed a balance lesson. So I wonder how he/she already knows she wants to teach it if she is not even sure she can follow it. From her remark I understand that she followed Pilates and that made her feel better. So that's why I advised her to just follow the class, see how it feels and from that point decide if you want to stay in the class or stand up in front of it.

baronee16:Yes, I agree with all of you. Mainly my concern was more about the flat footed balance thing, I have started taking Yoga Classes again, and will ensure my balance is up to par before certifying, I am sure I can follow the class just fine. Thank you for your input.
Great! No hard feelings.
And, the flat-foot thing should not be a porblem at all. I know many instructors have the same problem, but they are so good at Balance and stretches, with firm foundation and side body long with Taichi breathing and Pilates cores.
Hopo you'll enjoy Flow deeper and longer!

The single leg balance poses are a small portion of the class.... there is more to BodyBalance than being able to hold a perfect tree pose. How you impart the class is most important. There is continual development of strength and opening.... the releasing of tension, the engagement of your core, your current flexibility, the energy you have and your intentions. While teaching you are performing but the verbalizations are super important as you instruct your class in the correct manner to 'awaken' the intelligence of the body mind to work in the moment... no matter where you are in the depth of the pose (or your balance skills are)... The beginner student who engages all of their resources in a 'half way' position is getting as much from posture as an advanced student utilizing everything they have in the full pose. SO no matter where you are in 'balancing' you will be doing it well when you are practising with the best of your ability... this is where the your development occurs. If you can show your students that you are challenging yourself while you instruct, you can work with them and verbalize and share your opening, assisting them to do so in the moment. You can instruct and share the options as you continue to open and develop. 'Striking a pose', is far from the essence of class...while you may have all the flexibility in the world to perform you not be mobilising the recources to awaken the experience. Be sensitive, open, honest, show commitment, passion, be devoted and the 'balance' will become easier and easier.
List of things to do today.
breathe in
breathe out.

oh man, bajakat, you have exactly the right BB vibe - as a participant and lover of balance (even if i'm the worst executor of it), that is precisely what balance, for me, is all about! It is the essence and core of energy being controlled by your instructor to make you stronger, more focussed and better equipped than you were previously! I love balance when it's taught by people like you!!!
Hi, my first name is December. Really. It is. Current weight: 118kg (and falling)

I think it's great that you want to share your Body Flow experience for members at your gym(s). Let me tell you this, I trained Body Flow at release 31. I had never seen a class before. My GFM suggested I try it because I was wanting to do yoga, which I had seen. I knew I would have a problem with balancing, but for me, hip openers are my nemesis. Options and follow up cues are my friends. As time passes, I notice that I can do more than previously. I still have a lot further to go, and I share that with my classes. They respond well because it allows them to do their best and to work to improve. We laugh about it, for about 8 bars :-). Classes are always beautiful experiences and members realized that there are going to be challenges. They have the option to choose what's best for them and the opportunity to expand their abilities.
I concentrate on presenting the experience in a way that can best be enjoyed by all. They respond well and we all grow. All that to say, enjoy the experience. Naturally, it will improve over time, but recognize it is a practice, so there is always room to grow. Best wishes.
Together against globesity.
