    Hip Hop Block too long?

    Ok my thoughts on 44:

Nice warm up thats nice and easy and gets people in the mood.

Iso's: Nice tarck works well and can have much fun with this, in one class i managed to get one class to split in four lines and they all did the conga around the gym, very funny, hehe!!

Hip Hop: You know i really like hip hop but i have to say this block is just TOO LONG IMO. Tick Tock just goes on and on,yeah its ok a few times and the feedback i have had is that the members realy like the chorey and appreciate how easy it is but they all agree that it just gets boring. This is a real worry cus ive only just launched it?????? IMO it should have been broken up with more latino (not my fav but the members love it!!)

Recovery: What a great track this is but i have to say i really think this starts well and then again just goes on and on and on and on.......ZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Its not that the chorey is bad but there just is not enough of it IMO.

Second block: I think this is friken awesome and so do my participants. Hardcore with some of the best songs we have had in a release so far. The heartrate is through the roof and the chorey is nice and simple so they can get a great workout. Just the right length to allow for it to build and work the levels as an instructor. When the base kicks in in all these tracks the class just goes 100% insane and they want more of it.....point being, its a short enough track to be awesome but leaves them wanting to do it again next week  : )

I have to say its great to see soooooo many participants in the dvd and i remember how great the sound system is in studio one so i bet the atmos was insane!! Love the extra flavour G, Rach and Matteo added to the routines and was choreographed really well : )

So overall...first block needs to be broken up a little more with a different block. I think the greatest examples of a great first halfs would be Jam 40 and 41,short blocks of different styles...yeah it took longer to learn but the most rewarding to teach and had great longevity : )

    Just my observations : )

Re: Hip Hop Block too long?

We have several back releases with shorter first half blocks already, so I was actually feeling ready for a nice uninterrupted Block 1. But that's also because I do like the hip-hop block quite a bit, as simple as it is. It's also been a few releases since there's been such a focus on hip-hop, correct?

There's also been a pattern of simple recovery tracks from 41 onwards.. its OK. I don't mind a fairly mindless break, although I think the second half of the track with the endless step-taps and step-ball kicks is a tad weak. I will say that going back to 39 while waiting to launch 44 has been a bit of a rude shock for my class... they've gotten a little spoiled by the simplicity of the Track 6s... they were tripping over themselves keeping up with the Deja Vu track and beyond!

let your body feel the music and enjoy the moment!!  i think the ALL RELEASE is crazy!!

it's easy for the members to follow and when you get the chore you can bring your own flava!!!

I just have to agree: too many reps. participants comment that routines could have been added with a few more steps.

I totally agree here. It is too long, and hip hop is on the very low end of my favorites list. What I really liked was the house block, although I thought it was kinda short. It was only 3 songs. They must have all been extended versions or something.
