    Changing up music

Just wondering how often you all change up music on new releases.  I know we wait the two week mark--but do you feel in Flow/Balance that participants need a bit longer to help with new poses?

    Re: Changing up music

In Balance I tend to wait 4-6 weeks then start changing some songs.  If there is a track I really don't like it might be gone after 3 weeks but that is not common.

Speaking to participants they seem to really prefer to do the tracks quite a few times in a row before I make changes.
And then, even after I change a track, I will stick to the replacement for at least 3 weeks.

So much longer than my other programs. :)

Been doing BB40 for 7 weeks now. Just going to change the Tai Chi and Sun Sals this morning to those from 26 - that's all.

    I'm damned, I'm hot and I just can't stop

I do the same thing --just wondering if I was doing it like others--in RPM I change every two weeks--but Flow I just feel I need to stay longer-thanks for the input

    Re: Changing up music

I don't change the music until about 2-3 weeks before I go on the quarterly, I then play my/participants favourite tracks from past releases and stick with that until I have learnt the new release,or sometimes pick an old release. I just think that with balance/flow you need time to get into some poses.

If there is a song I don't like I find it grows on me the more times I play it, like track 9 on release 40. Many times the tracks I don't like my participants do like.

    Re: Changing up music

I like it when the music gets changed up because I get bored with doing the same choreography after a while.

    Re: Changing up music

I listen to what my participants are saying after the 4th week. Most often it's time to change then. The only exception was release 34. We never get tired of that one.

I mix up about every 4 weeks... I ask for requests but mostly they say that they are happy to be guided by me.

I am the exact opposite - I prefer to say with a Balance release throughout its whole three-month period.  I usually notice great progress in most of the poses if I do them for long enough.  I am lucky enough that both my Balance instructors usually stick to the same release for its whole life.

Having said that, I do like my other classes (Pump and Combat) to be mixed after a few weeks.  I am also lucky here in that my instructor for these two (who is also one of my regular Balance instructors) has a talent for producind good mixes of tracks for these two classes.

Each to their own, I suppose...

Yeah i get what you mean. Some of the tracks or stretches that I have done I wish could stay in the rest of the releases but others like the tai chi and sun saluations and tracks similar to that i like to be changed up after a while.
