    Perfect Speed Work

    So picture it:

You can hardly breathe.  You just finished a kick-butt awesome time trial in the Interval ride, and now you are looking at open road to do some great speed work.  And you love this particular track.  As a matter of fact, it just may the best speed work that RPM has ever choreographed for the bike.  With that said, what do you think is the one speed track that ranks best in the repertoire of Speed Work tracks?

There are some great sixth tracks in the collection, but can you narrow it down to just one that is your favorite

Thanks to all of you for posting.

    Lee

For me it is Sarah McLachlan's Sweet Surrender (34)

I love the ~90 sec. segments in Sunspot (37), but I'm really enjoying Everything (39).  The opening beat rocks, but it'd easy to relax to as well.

    Re: Perfect Speed Work

I love those track 6's that allow me, through the music to re-connect with my class. We've smashed ourselves on the interval track and now it's time to grab air, gear down, and take 30 -45 seconds recovery and then build for the mountains.

The key here for me is the trancey beat + lyrics that I can use with my cues to motivate the class.

    Why (29)

    Inspiration (33)

    Rise Again (32)

    Sweet Surrender (34)

    My all time fav

    Just Around The Hill (13)

I like the big bass beat in RPM 21's track 6 (name is escaping me at the moment) and I liked Sunspot on 37.  Why on 30 is also good.  Everyone likes the song and knows it.

    Re: Perfect Speed Work

I cant pick a single one, but here are the favourites:

    - Inspiration

    - Sunlight

    - Rise Again

I'm not 100% certain but I think they're all Ian Van Dahl tracks.

    Re: Perfect Speed Work

I'm a big fan of T6s in general. My note worthy tracks are...all of which have been mentioned already...

    Sunlight (27)

    Shivers (30)

    Rise Again (32)

    Only If I (36)

The toss up is Sunchyme (35) and Sunspot (37) but will give the nod to Sunchyme. The sound keeps me carefree and relaxed, but makes me wanna ride fast...in control of course... Big Smile

My choices would have to be:

    Children- Robert Miles

    After All - Delerium

    Everything- DJ Tiesto

    cookiepie:
I like the big bass beat in RPM 21's track 6 (name is escaping me at the moment)

That track was called "E" by DrunkenMunkey... our groups like it too.  Yes

    Re: Perfect Speed Work

This is a hard one... I've always found speed work the most challenging for me when I  teach and ride, but I have found that the choices of music made for this track have been so good that it motivates me enough to get through the challenge.  You're right, it's hard to narrow it down, but at first I narrowed it down to 2:  Sunchyme and Inspiration.  After  using the scientific method to come up a decision ("inka binka bottle of ink, the cork fell out and you stink" method), I have decided that Inspiration won hands down.

    Re: Perfect Speed Work

I have to go with Sunspot from 37.  The choreography is so simple it can be cued very minimally, allowing the riders to almost meditate as they work their speed and control.  That one just "clicked" in our club like no other did.

    Always an Adventure!
