As a fella i love body attack it is strong powerful and demanding, but does take a couple of attempts to get to grips with lol.
Problem we have in the UK is that men see group fitness as a ladies thing and weights as a man thing. If a fella does go to a class then people tend to assume that he is a bit efeminate or weak. personally i would say to them try it then call it just for girls or weak.
These class's do take time to get right and several attempts and unfortunatly when it comes to men this is a no no espcially in front of women. Men want to look the best and show off and hate looking silly and we are very concious of this. All i can say is that the NZ boys must be really confident and gender boundries have blurred further than in the uk.
the boundries are breaking but males in a attack class are still one or two with 25 - 30 females. I think this is down to the gender of the instructor too, there are not enough male instructors of these programs on the circuit. i get more men in my classes then other instructors just becuase i am a fella as they fell less intemidated.
this will always be a battle and i hope when i get to do the attack training i will encourage more men to attend the class and relise the great work out you get.
any other thoughts? these are just my theories
