    Re: Combat Footwear.

Think I'm gonna go with Nike Air Max 360s plus an insole thingy from yoursole - ones you heat up, them mould to your foot.

Found some in my size on eBay, MUCH cheaper than in the shops Big Smile

my experience is anything with a "flatish"base - things like shox etc with a raised base are unstable - nike frees and the like are much better as they give you better stability.

    ok so heres the thing...

spoke to physio today bout footwear after my recent ankle problems... he says frees are ok if you have the right type of foot, but if you overpronate (like me), it is better to go for something like asics which are still really light but give more arch support... will let you know if hes right once this ankle is fixed!!!Angry

just thought you might like to know...

ps this thread could become a sticky soon!

Will you people listen to me !

    BUY THE NIKE EDGE.

I have been teaching for over 14yrs and have been wearing the EDGE since combat 30 and it works like a charm.

Interesting... do I get my money back ?? Stick out tongue To me the trainer version of Nike Free i.e. 7.0 v2 works better than the 5.0 v2. But the 5.0s look much better. I've had lots of Nike's in the past too.

    Re: Combat Footwear.

Wats the difference between edge and frees?? i loooove the frees, but not enough arch support, hence wrecked joints...

    Re: Combat Footwear.

I absolutely love the Nike Free for combat, however, the Nike Shox Ballo is a great shoe and I recently got a pair that is light weight enough that I can do combat is them as well.  I love my shox for step so this is the perfect dual purpose shoe!!!
If you're gonna do it... do it right!!!!!

    Re: Combat Footwear.

Well, my Nike 360s were great, but they got a puncture in one of the little airbags during the first Attack class I wore them to. Last week at Attack they got even more mashed up and bits started crumbling - superglue & stickyback plastic are now featuring in the shoe design.

Anyone know where to try out the Nike Free's here in leafy Surrey (UK)?

Went to JJB sports, JD Sport,  Footlocker and none of them seemed have them?

I've even looked in Nice, Montpellier, Zagreb and Milan and can't seem to find them?

Lillywhites on Piccadilly currently have one style of Frees (that I saw) in their clearance sale for £19.99. I loved the feel, but they don't have enough support for me. Bummer.

    Re: Combat Footwear.

Well I gave up with the UK high street in the end.

    I've ordered a pair from www.galaxysports.co.uk (Nike Free 7.0's).

I hope they fit and feel OK.  (fingers crossed).

    Re: Combat Footwear.

Well they arrived today -- not bad considering I ordered them Sunday afternoon.

Did BC this evening and really liked them.  I was a bit worred at first at they did feel a bit tight in width (I've got wide feet) and that I had ordered euro 46's and they sent 47's.  However that was probably a blessing in disguise.

They were great for kicks -- really light and I could kick much easier (they were more like my kitchen kicks!).

By track three they were kind of hurting on the soles of my feet but that soon cleared up.

So so far so good.  I may try them in Attack tomorrow and will be in Combat on Thursday so we shall see.
