    Numbness on the road bike

    Hey guys,

So when I am not riding in the studio I hit the road with my buddies, but I have noticed that I always have numbness in my wrists when riding.  I never experienced any of this on the bike in RPM, and I do alter my profile to alleviate some of the pressure on th bike but it still comes right back when I return to ride position.  Any ideas why this might be happening?
    I'll be ridin it...

Take your bike to a local shop and have a professional fitter fit the bike.  It's well worth the money.  Even though I'm a decent fitter there's nothing like a pro.  I had to change out my handlebars.  I had the flat ergonomic ones and they made me numb.  As soon as I change them out and got refitted -numbness went awas.

if not already doing this, try sitting with most of your weight in the saddle and less on your handlebars.  Good gloves to protect the nerve in you  hands and change your hand positions often.

I have same issue.  I also have carpal tunnel syndrome so riding my bike outside is quite painful.  I am thinking of getting some ART as I have just learned that may be useful.

    Sorry can't be more helpful.

Getting your bike fitted by a professional is a must.  It can make a world of difference.  In addition, make sure you're using your core to support your upper body, rather than leaning excessively on your handle bars.  Core strength makes a big difference.  Pilates training has helped some with this problem.

    Good luck!
