What exactly is permissible concerning older tracks? Given the new guidance on length of time for racing and standing climb, etc., isn't some degree of rechoreographing required for anything older than twenty-three or so? And if this is true, is it necessary to have the old choreography for, say, release 4?
Also, for an instructor to teach a certain release, does that instructor have to own the release materials personally or can he or she borrow from the club or another instructor?
Finally, occassionally people talk about songs not in any release -- for example Christmas stuff. If such songs are choreographed i.a.w. recent instruction and placed appropriately, is it still an RPM class?
Often people ask similar questions; and then someone else replies something like "I don't know if it's legal," and that's the end of it. So I'm asking for some guidance on what is and is not legal. We have tried to get answers from the regional reps, but they seem to make it up on the fly and they are usually just glorified instructors. If the licensing agreements with clubs are silent on this stuff, then what else is there but suggestion and guidance?
