    Has anyone tried the EDGE?

I am told they are still in stores and are well worth the fitness of your body for the LONG  RUN.

Not just like other shoes that cost you medical bills !

    Re: Combat Footwear.

As I said earlier, I generally use New Balance. However I now have Nike Free 7.0, which IMO are much better than the other Frees.

For anyone who finds they have wide feet, my podiatrist advised lacing trainers from one or two holes up rather than right from the bottom which gives a little more room and is less noticeable than you'd think.

Never criticise someone until you have walked a mile in their shoes. That way when you do, you´re a mile away and you have their shoes.

For anything you could ever possibly want to know about shoe-lacing try
     http://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/knotcomparison.htm
You find all sorts of things you never knew you never knew. Try the "Ian's Secure Shoelace Knot" for a knot that doesn't flop undone, or have a look at the "Lacing Shoes" menu in the left sidebar to find all sorts of ways of lacing your shoes to make them wider, narrower, prettier or weirder.

The things you stumble upon on the internet, eh?

I've been invisible for a while - profile got deleted, so I'm back and 'friendless' with a post-count of about zero - so hello again everyone. Big Smile

I mainly wear Nike Frees but recently I have been wearing a pair of martial arts inspired Nike Shox OGE. They are have the 5 puc configuration and seem well suited to Combat. Yes

They are awesome Steve - saw a pair in Nike Town and bought them straight away. Black with gold swirls - very similar  to the current combat patterns!

    Re: Combat Footwear.

I found my Nike Free's to be awesome. They are flat and light weight.  I was told to be sure to get something with a flat sole.  At best, cross trainers are okay.  I was told by my ortho to avoid running shoes at all costs because they are build to really just go forward and back (running) but not side-to-side.

I use Nike Tuhons like these:

They're really comfy for any martial arts thingies... but they have no arch support like most martial arts shoes... but they're great for combat... I swear by them...

    Re: Combat Footwear.

Nike Free 7.0's are the best ones I've found so far--I've been looking for a pair of Edges, but I can't find any.

I was wearing Nike Free 5.0's for a while, but the flexibility, stability and toe articulation in the 7.0 are superb.

Just saw a new thread started on this.  Wanted to renew this thread so we don't have to rehash the same discussion again.  Hope this helps.

Just got a pair the other week - love 'em!!

Nice and light for Combat, but seem to take the shock of Attack as well.

Had a pair of Asics 1000 cross trainer, which I liked, but I think it's a bit too high and now have a bump on my ankle.  So got a Malleolar Gel Ankle Sleeve (or grandpa sock as I call it) just to make sure these don't rub me the wrong way.
