    Combat Footwear.

Does anyone have any comments on footwear specific to combat/martial arts?

No specific footwear for BodyCombat - light trainers with good cushioning, I like Nike Free (as do a lot of others) for an hour or 2 on a sprung floor.

Either Nike Shox or Nike Free for me.

I saw a pair of Shox recently with the fifth "spring" under the heel - which you don't seem to get in the male shoe - but that extra spring really makes a difference.

I'm pretty sure that means it's the cross trainer version.

Nike Shox are the only shoe that don't hurt my shins. I love the Free's, they're heaps better for moving around in combat and kicking etc, but after a few classes in them my shins ache.

Gotta be Nike Free for me... Had 3 pairs of Shox and they've all been terrible! Never again...

Got 4 pairs of Free's now though!

Problem with Shox is that there are many different types and most of the youngsters they employ in the shops don't know what the difference is - generally 4 springs and it's a running shoe - 5 or 6 springs and it's a cross trainer - but there are a massive number of variations.

I'm lucky in that I found a style that suit and just try and buy them up when I see them.......

Yes, they do come in crazy colors... Check EBAY!

I am just going to have to try these Nike Free, now... seem to be the choice across the board. I wear Adidas Martial Arts shoe. Love them, lightweight, perfect... BUT no arch support. My feet might rebel for that later...

I thought I made a unique choice with NikeFree! I don't see many people wearing them in my club...  But... As community says - they are excellent!!!

I just bought a pair of ReeBok DMX . They have a Pivot circle on the front end of the shoe which is great for martial arts pivots like roundhouse kicks.

    Check them out.

    Re: Combat Footwear.

Nike Free without any doubt, just started onto my second pair, first pair did 15 months solid service, just started to split on one side.
