    Re: BodyVive 12

we launched 2 weeks ago, and got very good reviews , love the music, the choreography, and that it has even more options with the intensity. Our room is long and skinny and I decided to split the room into 2 groups at either end of the room, hanstring curl to same wall, in track 4, we go into a circle after powerwalk, it lowers the pace a lot but i'm seeing a lot of smiles so must be alright. Its just the obvious thing to do, work with what you have. you'll do fine sassy, just wait for those smiles..... and groans. good luck. thadeus

    Re: BodyVive 12

Maddy!!!  Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!   I'm so honored you tried my idea and I'm really excited to know it worked!!!!  I have really been stressing about this one!!!!

I don't launch until the end of Sept. here but I'm pleased to hear the good buzz.  Frankly for me, I really like BV11, so I'm nervous to switch it out. (with the exception of track 2 and 9.  Those can go to the BV grave yard!!:)

And by the way, I went back and watched strength 1 and laughed my head off, since I hadn't noticed the hammering a hammer line!!!  Glad you pointed it out because I probably would have said the same thing!!!:)  Someone at my intesive training session said its like you have a knife and are stabbing someone!!!!  Devil  Cant say that I'll use that one!!!!Wink

Well thanks again for your feed back!!!!  Glad to see everyone coming out of the woodwork!!!!

Ida here...am going to my quarterly for BV12 on Saturday, and WHAT a Saturday. SuperSaturday in Stockholm, with Dr Dave himself and loads of other LesMills celebs! I am so excited I cannot sit still on my office chair...

Thanks for all the pre-info on BV12, but I am lacking something vital: the complete track list. Could someone please put it here, so I can try and find the songs? It is always good to get a feel for them before you see the actual program.

    Thanks and happy viving!

    Re: BodyVive 12

    Hi y'all,

Funny thing...I've been teaching BV12 for a while now and in the back of my mind was thinking either I'm getting fitter or this release isn't quite as intense as others. For this morning's class I thought I'd bring out release 10 to shake things up. WELL!!! The difference was incredible. Got a real sweat up (which hasn't happened for weeks) and the participants even dropped to the ground in mock exhaustion after the fitness cardio block. SUCH a buzz happening....Got thumbs up and great feedback from everyone.

The best thing? Even my little old ladies loved the vibe and intensity (while still going their own pace of course.) Don't get me wrong-I still like 12 (with the exception of track two which has the pace of a funeral procession) but has anyone had a similar experience?

One advantage I suppose...if you know you have a class with heaps of newbies, at least you've got a release up your sleeve that may better suit them...

i love bodyvive 12. track 2 is very intense if you get low enough in the legs and step wide, as you can in every track.

    Re: BodyVive 12

Launching tomorrow - and would you believe it...for BV10, I had to do the whole release myself since my co-instructor's grandmother died just a couple of hours before the launch, and the poor girl was in no state to go happy-clappy-Viving... This time, my co-instructor (not the same one) phoned me yesterday - her mother is seriously ill and in hospital. Our launches seem to be cursed :(...

As for my impression of BV12, it's improving each time I go through it. I feel that the cardio has definitely stepped it down a notch - which is not a bad thing since it has been going crazy for the last two releases, and you can still give people a good sweat by really "nagging" them to get looooow...

But the strength tracks!! Oh. My. GOD!!! Track 8 is darn near impossible (at least for me, with my baby hands, my wrists and elbows are soooo strained...I will need to give the self-made option "use one handle but make the tube shorter", since that is what I will have to do myself...), and then track 9 which is just what Susan says track 10 is - "deceptive". Thank GOD the back care is somewhat more...meditative, or I would be throwing up from exhaustion.

Or...is it just me? Do I need to shape up, or what? ;) Anyone have any hints for track 8? Or just a bit of sympathy. That would do very nicely :D.

    Re: BodyVive 12

Hey everyone!!  I have FINALLY released BV12!!!!  Ida, sorry to hear about your launches!!!  Take heart, I have been the only BV instructor at my club for almost 2 years so I have NEVER had anyone to launch with!!!  Everytime I get a new release I think how in the world am I going to learn all 12 tracks by myself??!!!  Somehow I've managed to pull it off so far.  If I cant get another instructor soon though, I'm going to have to cancel some classes because I'm just to plain exhausted doing it by myself!!!!

I hate to be in the minority here, but I thought BV12 fell a little flat.  It seemed harder to get people motivated and everyone was entirely to serious with it.  I can only crack so many jokes and cue at the same time!!! Stick out tongue

Hopefully it will catch on after a few classes.  I "launch" with my night class tonight and I'll be interested to see how they feel about it.  They aren't as whiney as my morning group! Smile  I'll let you know.  Oh and someone said the ab track isn't hard enough.  I told them to makes sure their abs were braced because I find it quite challenging!  Any suggestions on that one??????

Keep the discussions coming!!!  Its been great to see new life in here for a change!!!!!!

    Vive On!!!

Catherine---If was back in MN I would launch with you!  I am a VIVE instructor with no classes.  Are you teaching VIVE at one of the Ys?   Before moving to AZ I taught PUMP and FLOW at a couple different Ys in the Twin Cities.

    Re: BodyVive 12

Interesting to see what your class thinks tonight, Catherine. I personally think the abs track is quite strong. What do you think of track two though?

BTW: I gave up trying the double-handle bi-curl long ago! Need to do a few more pump classes I think!

    Re: BodyVive 12

Seriously Lee, why on earth would you leave cold, wintery MN for warm sunshine in AZ??  The reasons perplex me!!Wink  But honestly, if you ever visit MN give me a call, I'd love to team teach!!!  I actually teach accross the border in WI since I live close., We used to be a Y but the local hospital took us over and things have been going well ever since!!!

Anyway, Maddi, the night launch went better as far as energy level goes, but I messed up 3 times in the first two tracks!!!!  I must have had a little brain fart!!!:) Just kidding.  Perhaps making a mistake lightens the mood a bit. I'll have to ask them directly about the ab track on Thurs!!!:)

    Thanks all!!!!

    Re: BodyVive 12

I agree with most of what Catherine and Maddy have said...

Track 1 - ok, but not great compared to up-beat songs like I'm Every Woman or Finally

Track 2 was very ho-hum, I like the chorey, but track was too slow...

Track 3 - very "bitty", lots of stopping and starting...

So, yeah, bit flat at the start and then you have to work hard to get the energy levels up!

Gotta say though, Track 4 & 5 are FAB!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE both of them! Feel the same about 6 & 7 too!

Track 8 - very forgettable - but love the double tubing on the bicep curl - I teach Pump 4 times a week and even a black tube doesn't give me a big challenge - have bee using double purple tube for biceps and black tube for triceps and love the intensity (if not the song lol...)

Track 9 - Love Destiny's Child, easy set up and easy to learn/teach, but I kinda felt the track stuck out as a sore thumb compared to rest of the  release musically...

Track 10 - I agree this is a GOOD track - anyone who says they're not having a workout just ain't doing it right!!! lol...

Track 11 - Love it! Great song and really different moves - very fresh!

Track 12 - anyone who doesn't like this one needs to get their head examined lol...

So, my final thoughts are; overall it's a really good release, but the first 3 tracks are definitely a bit flat...

Reactions from my participants have generally been pretty good - so happy all round

    Re: BodyVive 12

That's just about word-for-word how I would sum  it up Paul!  (Oh, except of course for the choice of track 8's tube!) But that's the great thing about Vive...people of all different strength/fitness levels can still love it...

    Viva la Vive!

    Re: BodyVive 12

I agree also with Paul however, I LOVE track 3!! It is probably my favourite track of the whole release. Maybe it is mostly the song but I also really enjoy the chorey (although it was a bit tricky to learn in the beginning!).

    Track 2 is a bit ho-hum but I don't mind track 1, being a 90's girl, don't mind a bit of Black Box ;)

All my members are enjoying this release, I have taught it for 4 weeks now and usually they are asking for a change but everyone is happy to go another week with this one.

    Re: BodyVive 12

I just watched the DVD the other day and now am working on learning the chorey to launch on Oct. 19.  I don't know why, but I am having a dickens of a time learning this release.  I am spending more time watching/ practicing with the dvd than ever in past releases.  Just my personal opinion, the notes are not helpful in any way for me.  Another instructor that I work with said she is having the same problem.  What is wrong with us???    Any tips???  Once I get past learning tracks 1-6, all will be easy....I hope.
