Odd he mentioned this because that was what I was thinking about during meditation this morning. No distracting bangs or crashes in the background, just the HVAC (Air conditioning).
I forget what they call them (Like What's the sound of one hand clapping?), but mine this morning to get into the meditative state was to find a pattern or rhythm in the sound of the air conditioning. The first thing I noticed was the sound of my pulse, but then there was the slightest hint of the sound of a bearing or belt going bad in the HVAC.
Then I heard the instructor bringing us out of meditation and the class ended.
They're called Zen Koans. Can you hear the sound of one hand clapping in the sound of the HVAC? Or right now in the sound of your computer's fan?
