Wow, Sofy... I *actually* agree with you. I think the intensity of BodyFlow/Balance is underrated sometimes. It's an incredibly tough program and almost every move challenges me like nothing else.

Let's see... toughest move. Side plank is one of my most loathed exercises of all time. Intense pose makes me huff and puff. Bird pose is tough for the incredible faith you need to have in your balance...

Lots of hard moves in this program.

Eagle Pose...I can't get these paws to touch nor my hips to cross enough to do the pose justice Wink

Cow Face pose I think is the toughest to get right for me, but that could be just a male thing! Wink

Half lotus, my hips just won't do it! After two years I am still where I started.
Walk or run, just don't waddle!

I remember a class where your fists where on the floor and lift your legs up and put your knees on your elbows.

That was a a few years ago though.

Re: WHAT'S the most difficult move in BODY BALANCE?

Tricep dips in the latest release... for some reasons my arms just pack in, which doesn't happen in attack etc.

Also, I hate an extreme love/hate relationship with standing strength.

I always feel quite smug when I finally convince friends to come to balance and they realise that it is actually an intense class instead of just stretching. So yeah, sofy, I agree. The challenge is fantastic :).

That sounds like Bird... which makes an appearance in the new release #46

Re: WHAT'S the most difficult move in BODY BALANCE?

I don't know what it's called, but it is the exercise in programme #45. The very last one after the swan and all that. You're supposed to stand on all four, supported on the floor by your underarms and spreading your legs wide with your toes pointing out, and then....pushing your derrier bacwards. When it's all done one has to be careful getting up because it hurts so much.

And if you who came up with the exercise reads this; ONE AND A HALF MINUTE standing like that???? Indifferent

Ah yes, the frog pose.   It explains why frogs look so miserable most of the time.

Given the state of my ankles anything that involves standing on one foot is a big problem for me.  That section of the class is now known as the 'wobble track'.

Gym life: participant only. Currently doing Combat, Pump, Attack, Balance & Jam. Now retired from Step due to continual grumbling from ankles.

Re: WHAT'S the most difficult move in BODY BALANCE?

Yup, that's the frog pose- with the "PNF" stretching..

I was with ya on this one when I first saw it, so I did a little research, and though that whole hip track is a toughie it really makes a lot of sense.  PNF stretching (which I believe stands for Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation)  is a method used often in PT and rehabilitation, and is" a more advanced form of flexibility training that involves both the stretching and contraction of the muscle group being targeted."

    (ok, snagged that from http://www.thestretchinghandbook.com/archives/pnf-stretching.php)

I had to figure this one out to help explain to the members why this odd-looking pose was really advantageous! :)
