I must admit that while I was participating in Rhythm of the Night at the BA65 quarterly, i did think of this post and laughed a little. Very predicatable, but still VERY fun

    Re: Embarrassed teaching attack....

I've been doing attack, combat and pump for about 3 or 4 months now, and I'm loving every minute of it. Sometimes, it's the highlight of my day, getting ready to work those muscles and get fit, while enjoying great music and having fun.

I think the degree of interest, in terms of choreography also depends on what instructors make it. I think the first post here mentioned the running, clapping in a circle, then pendulum legs, etc. and I admit, it sounds kinda mundane, but our instructor makes it really fun with her general happy enthusiasm, which infects us participants.

I think the enthusiasm of instructors is really important in motivating participants, and I enjoy my sessions every time, partly due to my instructor's awesomeness :)

I don't teach Attack but go regularly, and I have to agree. A couple of releases ago I just rolled my eyes and said "This is EXACTLY like the last one." It's predictable to the point of being annoying, quite a few members have complained about the new one (you should see the mass walkout during the pushups) and there was a lot of relief when the mandatory 3 weeks of new release was over and it went back to old ones!!

Fly on the wall = Miley Cyrus :(

The music in both Pump and Attack this release were terrible - why do the tracks have to be so dated? Can't they choose something new?!?! Womanizer is a whole year old! And I Kissed a girl is almost 18 months old - whyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Well, just a guess but if you follow a basic timeline - a track sometimes takes a while after release to hit the charts, one of the PDs thinks "this could work in my programme" goes through the channels to get the international license required for full worldwide release with LM. Choreographs it then inserts it into a release. We then have a 4 - 6 month turnaround from filming to actual release to instructors - sometimes even longer in some regions.

And bam, suddenly what seemed like a "hot" song gets released a good year or more in their LM programme.

Not the easiest job in the world unless you have a crystal ball and can predict a track will be hot in 12 months!

In that case, maybe they could use at least some tracks that aren't massive chart hits, so that the participants haven't heard them 4387589327589432 times already. Pump does this better than Attack.
