Two thumbs down on the half burpee!   Always try to hydrate well before class but if I do, almost throw up when I bend over for the half burpee!   Maybe I am prone to reflux issues or something.

I love this release. So much energy and all the songs are great. I am obsessed with Track 10, I can't stop thinking about it. The emotion, power, and energy of this track lift me to new heights and I have never experienced such exhilaration. I get chills and goosebumps as soon as it starts, it is the epitome of what BodyStep is for me.

    Re: The half Burpee

The burpee is simply a calisthenic exercise. I think in the DVD they talk about it shunting blood from the top of the body down toward the lower extremities, but all in all, it's simply a good power-driven upper and lower-body exercise. I guess it could be argued that it may help develop explosive power but it's not really a plyometric exercise, either...you may see it elsewhere with a jump added to the end of it which makes it a little more plyometric in nature.

SOOOOO true...here in oz we launched this nearly 3 months ago now but dont think ill ever get over that track, especially LOVE the second half...."its not right but its okay, we're gonna make it anyway" lol...is that the right wording??  The change in song just pushes you all the way i reckon and adds a new dimension to the peak track

    Re: The half Burpee

You're NOT the only one that likes the half burpee (except for the name, LOL)! Not only do I love it as an advanced move, but so do MANY of the people in my classes. Granted, I don't teach a beginner BS class so maybe if there were a lot of beginners in there I'd be more apt to go slow with it, but my 5:30pm animals like it and with the exception of a small few, they are doing it correctly and not arching their backs. The ones that don't like it, it's too much...well, they just do the option of the tap backs! Honestly people, it's just a move and there's only so much that we can do in step. I'm glad Mark went for it and hope he continues to keep BS on the edge!
