    Sweat

    Hello.

I'm seeking your recommendations for any clothing that will keep me somewhat dryer during classes. At the moment I'm wearing Nike Dri Fit "dry fit technology" tanks/shorts/leggings which is meant to wick away the sweat, however, I'm still just as drenched at the end of the class if I was wearing normal tank tops/shorts/leggings.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Re: Sweat

If you sweat a lot (like i do) i don't think there's anything that will absorb all that sweat fast enough, i'm always drenched after every class.

    Re: Sweat

    Hey delphene,

I too get very sweaty, but what i found best was finding material that is a little more durable. You can try Lorna Jane (for their crops, running singlets and tanks, leggings and shorts), or lululemon atheltica (love their leggings). If you want exceptional quality, then you can try Brazilian active wear. Although its expensive, it is actually worth it. The brand that i like is Brasilfit and their material never changes shape and colour no matter how many times you wash it. Some other brands you can try are of Brazilian active wear: Braus, Fashion Brazil, Brasilsul. Plus the fit is amazing and firm and i dont feel as hot as if i were to wear normal tights.....

    Hope this helps! :)

    Re: Sweat

I always sweat heaps during Combat & Attack... I used to have to stop half way through tracks most days and wipe my forehead with my towel - and that was a pain having to break mid track, but now I wear a tight bandanna around my head and that catches all the sweat from my forehead

My clothes are always drenched in sweat afterwards, but there's not a lot I can do about that! - just means I am working hard! Big Smile

    Re: Sweat

I don't bother with stopping the sweats.  I just use wrist sweat bands and a hand towel tucked under my mic belt to dry off with between tracks.

    Re: Sweat

Hey, look at it this way - the fitter you are, the more you sweat during a workout!  Just means you're fit!

Maybe wear slightly loose clothes instead of tight ones to allow for some air flow and keep you a bit more comfortable. Aside from that I'm not sure what to do about it I'm afraid.

I just use my hand wraps, they're multi purpose equipment.

i can relate to that, by end of squat track for pump, i can feel sweat coming, for RPM and Attack - by the earlier tracks i am already sweating (track 3).....

    Re: Sweat

I'm glad to see that so many other instructors sweat as much as I do.  All of us combat instructors at our gym leave puddles of sweat on the floor and are mopping it up every couple of tracks so we don't kill ourselves.  I, too, wear Nike dry fit and it really doesn't help, but it's so comfortable.

I agree that the more fit you are, the more you sweat!  Plus, your class participants know how hard you are working when you are sweating as much, if not more than they are.  Keep up the good work!

I'm drenched by the end of the warmup, no matter what program I'm teaching. I've given up trying to control my sweat.

Women don't sweat - they 'glow' Smile

I find that moving air tends to take sweat away quicker than static air.  Since we usually exercise in an air conditioned room that doesn't help.  The solution is to either turn the fans on full or to make the room as cold as possible so that the process for sweating (ie: to keep the body cool) doesn't kick in.

Big Smile I know lots of women who "glow..." but I aint one of 'em! I'm soaked to the bone.
    Attractive, eh?

My friend Elaine and I team taught a Jam class, and after it was all done she still looked cute and dry and her hair was nice and her makeup was still intact. She looked at me and said, "Tsk. It's no fair. I wish I could get all sweaty like YOU do." Ha! Ummmm... thanks?

    Same here!

Those in the front row get themselves a nice shower... After the class, the colour of my clothes have completely turned darker! Big Smile

Luckily I don't sweat nearly as much in BB... The yoga mat gets so slippery when wet. Stick out tongue

Me too! People ask why I wear 'em and I say to mop the sweat from my brow!!!Stick out tongue

I also wear Nike Dri Fit stuff which is really comfy, and it does work to a certain extent. At the moment though I'm loving my Venum shorts that I bought for BC39! They are so light and comfy to wear, and being shorts they don't make you sweat as much as trousers!
