    Shoes For BodyAttack

Just a question:  What shoes do you wear for BodyAttack?

I thought I'd throw this out there to the masses after reading about stress fractures and shin splints.

I wear Nike Shox......the cross trainer version. They're the only shoes I've tried that don't make my legs hurt.

Everyone is different. I used to wear New Balance and they were great, but after I hurt my knee, they were too wide and unstable for me so I started wearing Brooks, great shoe if you tend to roll out. They are a little heavy but I got used to it.

I just bought a pair of fancy adidas shoes the other day that are light as a feather, but really supportive and stablising, havent tried in class yet though, don't want to take them out of the box haha.

But Shox don't work at all for me, far too unstablising. But that's just me *g*

My feet have been very happy in running shoes, oddly enough.  I found that cross trainers are sometimes too bulky for BA.  Saucony makes a wonderful orange and white running shoe that is lightweight yet very supportive and accomodates the not-too-narrow but not overly wide foot.

not very sure about shox if I where you try first running shoes but for long mile runs...saucony, brooks and the best one for me Asics kayanos find the best fit to your feet we all are so different depends if you have flat o overpronated feet I recomend you to visit the web site of your favorite sports store and find the descriptions and purpose of the shoe befores buying it then visit the store and try them on....it's more about how they feel not if is  the right color thats would be secondary Wink also after three months if you teach more than twice a week or you run with them you may have to buy a new ones....tennis shoes for instructors are like the oil for your car every three months or every 3000 miles, funny don't you think?Big Smile

I wear NIKE Shocks - they're the best by far.  If I don't wear them I get really sore knees and feet!

    Happy shopping.Smile

I've tried every thing from cross trainers to running shoes, and have been told tennis shoes are the best. I would love to know a good brand of shoe to buy as shin splint hell is nasty.

I'm liking my Nike Air 360s - no more sore shins after BA for me. They're already surprisingly supportive, but to make sure, I got some of those heat-mouldable "Sole" footbeds.

Seems to work for me Smile

I also love my Nike Air 360s. They are light and absorb the impact really well. No more sore feet for me.Smile

I'm a huge Asics fan, and am currently wearing their Kinseis.  Love them!  Very light, and lots of support.  But everyone's foot is different, I think it's really a trial and error thing, unfortunately.  Good luck!

I tried on a pair of Mizuno Wave Creation 8.  I liked the weight, but I still love the cushion of my Saucony Grid Propel Plus.  I use my Saucs for both BS and BA.  Do you use different shoes for different cardio programs (not including RPM)?

So far, Reebook DMX has worked wonders for me.

Like my Nike air max 180 / 360.

With BA 56 I strongly prefer the 360's as they have better demping in the front part of the shoe.

    Re: Shoes For BodyAttack

I wear Asics Kayano running shoes and swear by them. Get the shoe that best fits your feet. If you pronate, make sure you get something that has some stabilization or your IT bands will get really cranky (as well as your calves, knees and hips). I read about the tennis shoes and figure with the lateral movement that type would come in handy. You may have to experiment a bit to figure out what works best.
