Hi all - I am a BP instructor in an all-women's gym in Kansas. We launched BP on Feb 10 and 11, and although members love the class, we cannot seem to shake the complaints about not being able to get into class. We have 30 spots, and are doing the 30-minute sign up process - women can pick up a ticket 30 minutes before class. The only exception is for women taking a class right before BP - those women can get their ticket before the preceding class.
Anyway - our front desk staff (and the staff as a whole) is getting BLASTED because the sign up process doesnt seem to be working for these members. We are turning members away, those who come and stand in line 30 minutes prior arent necessarily getting into class and they are getting ANGRY! We added two classes to accommodate the overflow, but members are complaining that BP has taken the place of our other toning classes and they cant get in.
They also are complaining that we are letting ladies in the preceding class get tickets, although we started the BP program not LETTING women do this. When we did that, we were blasted for taking members away from classes preceding BP to get tickets.
All in all, we cant seem to win. We also have women doing BP with regular free weights and on the strength training floor, not the group fitness floor. We are addressing that issue, and will mention the rule against that again and again, but I have no doubt we will be blasted for that too.
Its really discouraging. We are at a bit of a loss. Has anyone experienced this? Does anyone have any suggestions? We have asked members to be patient as we streamline this program, but these women are vicious!
