Re: Need help with learning the choreography !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hello Arne,

During a discussion on #36 this topic came up so I went back to quote part of my previous answer.

Here's what I do to memorize the choreography.

    - I always count through the songs in the 8 count before I watch the DVD. I play the songs until I know the song and count by heart and no longer have to think about it.

    - I then do the class with the DVD! By experiencing the class first as a student, you not only experience what your members will at release time, helping you relate it more clearly back to them (Good students make good teachers!) but you lay the neurological network for automatic memory. When you later come back to learn the cues, you will already have a sense of what pose comes next and when to move with the music.

    - I then play the song with the choreo notes and read through the counts for the moves. I do the same with the DVD, just watching, listening and counting.

    - Then I visualize, I close my eyes, listen to the song, count, and mentally go through the track. I keep the choreo notes close at hand if I get lost and need to check where I should be. I do this last step right up until release!

37 will be my 3rd release, I trained on 33, missed 34 because of training and jumped in for 35. I'm still developing my learning tech but so far this is what works for me :) Many Blessings!

    Namaste :)
