    Walking Pushups?

The lyrics of Walk This Way, the upper body conditioning track, describe the movements and will definitely motivate! When it says “walk this way” in the chorus, that’s exactly what you do with the walking pushup. Bottom-half pushups are a special move in this track.

    from the "Latest Release" blurb
currently on the "BodyAttack" 'Program' page
    "Walking pushup"...
     ...whassat then?

I've only been going to the gym since the very end of January, so I'm probably asking a very stupid question - but enquiring minds 'n' all that...

I've been invisible for a while - profile got deleted, so I'm back and 'friendless' with a post-count of about zero - so hello again everyone. Big Smile

We used to do these in kickboxing warmup.  Do a standard pushup (pressup) of your choice.  Now in the up position (affectionately known as the front leaning rest position) move to either side by bringing the hands together and then separating them again in the same direction while doing the same thing at the same time with your feet. You have now "walked" one step to one side, so do another pushup.  You can do these to cross a room or one left and one right to stay in the same place.

I recall doing these fairly recently in a BP class, but don't know if they were legitimately in the release.  Anyone else recall?

yes they were in BP, I know the song Round and Round had them for the shoulder track, and Somethin' Going On as well. Can't remember the release numbers though *g*

And we do LOTS in BA *g*

    Re: Walking Pushups?

Now I wonder what the "turning knee combo from twenty years ago" is... :-)

    hmmmm

Two high knee crossovers with pivots in the middle?

Left over Right while pivoting on Right, Right cross in back while pivoting on Left?

Then reverse it to get back?   Dang!  I had to get up and try to do it.

    Has anyone seen this yet?

    Re: Walking Pushups?

It is 3 high knee crossovers then two regular knee up done rotating around. It builds up initially done facing then rotating once the move is mastered. So much like old fashioned aerobics makes me think of leg warmers, thong leotards and Jane Fonda (who still looks fabulous). I feel a retro release coming up, I really hate to put away my cowboy hat (BP ride a horse!). I feel like a 5 year old sooooo excited, how many sleeps?

Wish "Walk this way" was the original.

    Re: Walking Pushups?

hehe I had to use my dance training to 'spot' whilst turning as they are quite quick to get around! But loads of fun *g*

The version of Walk This Way is growing on me actually, I thought it sounded odd but the more I listen, the more it seems alright. As does the whole release *g*

    Thanks, Jazza.  Got it!

Yep, the Uniform!  I remember creating quite a stir with some really bright Hawaiian print volleyball shorts I bought at a closeout. Guys were supposed to wear those navy Adidas 3 stripe shorts.
