    Re: "Behind The Cow"

I think that this is Scooter making reference to a band from which they take some of their inspiration.

Scooter base quite a lot of their songs on singles released by an 80s Techno group called The KLF - indeed some songs by Scooter have samples lifted directly from KLF singles.

Behind the Cow lifts lyrics and structure from a KLF song called "What Time is Love?" - and KLF were also known as The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu. The KLF song "Justified and Ancient" features the lyrics "Ooooh oh bound for Mu Mu land".

So "the Legend.....behind the cow (i.e. Mu Mu) " is a reference to the band The KLF.

There was also a reference to "The Painted Cow" in the Scooter song Nessaja (which has been used in Combat and Step).

Bet you are glad you asked now eh?!

We get lots of Scooter songs in Combat.  Best not to analyze the lyrics.  Just have fun with them!

I swear I can hear some samples lifted from the KLF's '3AM Eternal' in there as well...

You probably can. This is the full list from a Scooter fan site.

"Behind the Cow" samples different versions of "What Time Is Love?" by The KLF, "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" by Blue Öyster Cult and "Black Celebration" by Depeche Mode. It also features vocals from the song "Yeh Kali Kali", from the Indian movie "Baazigar"

Interesting background on Scooter.  I don't know anything about Scooter but I did make one "Cow" connection as soon as I heard the "Don't Fear the Reaper" melody.  Anyone remember the Saturday Night Live skit - "More Cowbell".  If the link below doesn't show, go to Youtube and search "Saturday Night Live - Behind the Music: Blue Oyster Cult".  Pretty funny.

Excuse me if I double post - my first reply went to moderator approval - I tried to post a link and forgot that there are issues with that.

Actually just realized I meant to Google video not Youtube.  Google has the origninal skit in it's entirety.  Go to "video dot google dot com" and search as above.

They also lift a sample from The Movement- JUMP! near the end.
