How many times a week should you participate?

    How many times a week should you participate?

    I have always been told you should not work out the same muscles day after day. It seems that the BodyPump program involves the same activities every class. If our gym holds classes Mon-Thursday, can I go to all four or should I try to take every other day off? I hope that this makes since.

    Hey there! My gym also offers Body Pump Mon-Thurs.  I try to go every other day because I've heard you're supposed to give your muscles a day of rest.  This week I went two days in a row.  You better believe I was feeling it during the second class.  I think I'll stick with every other day. I've only been going for about three weeks now, and I can already see a difference in my legs.  Nothing too noticeable, but I can tell.  I enjoy the class and think it's a great way to shape up.  Hope this helps.

    It is recommended that you do body pump 2-3 times per week.  Because it is endurance based weight training you do not want to over do it there are no benefits and lots of negatives with over training.
