    First thoughts on BV 7

    Hi everyone.

What do you think about BODYVIVE 7?  BODYVIVE is changing and progressing with every release, and release number 7 is no exception.  What about that upper body strength track!?  Lots of new, fantastic moves!

     Enjoy the new release.

Yeap, definitely enjoyable and a little more intense than the previous ones.  Rise and Shine will have you sailing on the "Love Boat" so don't forget to salute the crew! Connect and Go with the Pointer Sisters, Dance Cardio with Ricky Martin of all things, Interactive Cardio splits us into four groups with the Village People's In the Navy, Can see people going everywhere in this track with out a captain to lead the way so set up here will be really important otherwise you'll have to laugh your way through the track.  Fitness Cardio is the best, Abba sings one of their best, the you'll be Sailing with Rod Stewart into Tai chi and Yoga.   Balance and Leg strength, grip that ball well, is all I'll say here, Strength 1, shoulders and triceps, interesting you'll love the triceps and when the going gets tough we move onto Strength 2,Abductors and Gluteals, watch you don't rock the boat in Ab strength to be sure to make it to Pure shores for back care to Release and Restore on the River of Dreams.

Really enjoyed BV 7 on the weekend, can't wait to teach it but won't be for about a month yet before we do.  Pity really I want to go!

    Hi Vive!!!

"A little more intense than the previous ones" ??????

Oh no, is Vive becoming 'yet another LM class' and losing its uniqueness? I really hope not. The thing I love about Vive is that it is for everyone, of EVERY fitness level and every ability. It suits those with injuries and those that are older. It just cuts right across the board and emcompasses everyone. It will be such a shame if Vive loses that.

And if it becomes more intense than previously, it WILL lose that. LM seem determined to take the people with low fitness, with mobility issues, with age, with injuries or other issues and refuse to have a class they can actively pursue. I had found mine with Vive, but if each series it is going to intensify, then it will lose all of those demographics. I find Vive 6 is about the top of my range for fitness - I doubt I could give much more and if 7 is more intense, Vive may lose yet another customer.

LM doesn't take into account the limited movement of truly obese people and Vive 6 and 5 were perfect classes for them (except for the abdominal crunches, which cut off the wind pipe).

I really hope they don't follow their traditional path of just providing classes for the superfit and super lean and leave Vive alone.

The song choices certainly sound good and I love interactive classes - they make it so much fun so it's good to know there's still that.

    December,

Don't get discouraged yet. Remember that Vive is made up of options. So even if the upper options are more intense, the other options should be there for you. I haven't seen release 7 yet. We just launched 6!!! But I base all my classes on options, and I'm confident that they will be there for you in Vive!

I just launched BV 6 and my people love it.  But I am concerned about the music in BV7.  The Love Boat??  Sounds rediculous to me.  Could someone be more specific about the track and make me feel like my people won't roll their eyes?!!!!!

Also, my gym is VERY small.  A full class for me is 10 people.  Will I be able to do interactive cardio with a small number??

Re: First thoughts on BV 7

    Hi Catherine,

As with all interactive cardio tracks, if you only have a few people,  the track can be done in groups of two or individually, just walk them to the back of the room or to each corner of the room, when you see what is required you'll see it's not a problem, doesn't matter how many people are in the room, infact the smaller the group the more room to move and easier to control.

The Loat Boat Theme is the rise and shine and over quickly it's not really that bad, and remember you only have to do it for 3 weeks then you can change.

    Hi Vive!

Hi Catherine, Don' be too concerned about the interactive cardio.  You can split the room in to two groups and have them cross over.  There are many people who sadly don't get enough in their class to do the four corners well so try my suggestion.  It will still work well. As for the music, the "Love Boat" is fantastic.  The arm lines really sell this track and set up the nautical theme for this release.  Believe me when I say it was so much fun, your participants will get a headache from smiling ear to ear - not from the music.

    Enjoy!

Nautical theme for body vive 7

We recently launched Body Vive 7 and  we dressed up in nautical striped tops plus sailor hats , we threw out streamers and decorated with balloons, plus raffle tickets and trivia questions eg Where is Montego Bay ? Who sings the Love Boat? All our participants dreesed up  from sailors to the tourist with the Hawwaiian  lae around the neck  and sunnies to curb the hangover!! Lots of FUn!!!  It was a great suceess however some of our older participants found the fast lateral movementsinTrack 5 hard as well as the shoulder track! Just give lots of options!

Re: First thoughts on BV 7

I love it!A participant commented tonight that it had a really nice flow from one track to another and I agree!

My only concern is the amount of time it takes to run through the set up for track 4...

The other tracks are simple in a really easy to teach way, i.e. not a lot of previews needed so you can just push play and go! So stopping the CD and doing the preview is time consuming and I like to try not to stop between the cardio tracks...

Other than that I think it's the best release of the lot (and I've been teaching since release 1), the music and the choreography!

I know some people aren't fussed about the Love Boat Theme as the Rise and Shine Track, but it puts a smile on everyone's face and sets up a great atmosphere from the rest of the class!!!

My favourite track has got to be the Back Care track! I love Pure Shores, great tune and much more powerful than the last few back care tracks, I think it makes for a nice strong finish to the class before chilling out in the Release and Restore!

This release has probably had the best response yet from my participants, so I'm happy!!!

How is Susan gonna top this?
