I feel like such a dork!

So I've done BA a couple of times and I feel like such a dork! The steps are all over the place and I feel so lost. Can someone tell me any tips to make it easier or when I'll actually start catching on? How often should I go to get the hang of it? I'm in pretty good shape...run 20 miles a week and bike close to 40..and have incorporated lifting too. What am I doing wrong or is it just a matter of time?

It just takes time to get used to everything in the class. Maybe try to get all of the low-impact options down first then move up to catching on to the high-impact options. How many classes have you taken? By the looks of it you will problay have not much of a problem keeping up in the class when you get all the moves down. lol. I have always herd to take attack 2-3 times a week for best results.

Hmmm...I STILL feel like a dork sometimes during BA, and I've gone through the training! ;)

My other suggestion to you would be to just focus on your lower body at first. Trying to get your legs and your arms correct at the same time can be overwhelming. Once you feel comfortable with what your legs are doing, then try to add in the arms.

Don't worry, if you stick with it, you won't always feel like a dork! The first time I took Attack I stepped on my friend!

    Hey Megan!

You sound like you're going through what I went through. As runners/cyclists, everything we do is in a single plane. We move our arms/legs to propel ourselves forward in a straight line. It's a no brainer. BodyAttack adds the lateral running and independent arm/leg movements that we are not use to. I certified back in Nov and I am just starting to feel comfortable with the movements. Take the advice of the other posters and be patient. With consistency, things will start to click. The moves will become second nature and your workouts will get better and a lot more fun! Good luck!!!

Hang in there!!!  Most of my new members feel exactly like you do...we've all been there(instructors included) all below are giving the best advice(do legs first, start w/ low impact first) all will work-if there is a specific move you are having trouble with, ask your instructor, I've come in a little early(15 min) or so and have worked w/members w/ specific issues-once you start feeling comfortable, it will get easier, you will be able to do higher options(if you want) and then you will see the results!!!  I tell most people if they take it once a week, give it a month...so hang in there, it is obvious your cardio is where it needs to be, the moves will come-no one has been born knowing these things.  Good luck and Best Wishes!!!
Always look towards your goals but don't forget to take time and enjoy the journey. Never give up!

Give yourself some time. :) It will come. Even though you know you can work harder and your fitness level is great, take some of the more diffacult move's easy (low option) until you get it. Remember we all started somewhere and saying what the......:)  Hang in there.
