    Quality of Clothing

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this complaint, however, I'm just curious if anyone else out there has experienced the same problems with branded clothing.  I just spent $189.00 on branded clothing at the last quarterly.  The clothing looked sharp and I wanted to sport it to show off Les Mills pride and espirt de corp!

When I got back to my gym and taught my classes, I recieved so many comments from members on how sharp the latest clothing looked.  They loved the new tattoo on each shirt, as well as the new designs for Pump and colors for Combat and Step.

However, my dissappointment came after the first wash of the clothing.  I washed the items according to the directions on the label and both, my new Pump and Combat tops are ruined.  The stitching on the Pump shirt has come apart and the branding on the Combat shirt peeled off before it was even washed.  I'm completely upset because I spent a lot of money on both articles.  I would expect something like this to happen with a cheaper, generic brand; however, I do not expect this to happen with Les Mills Branded clothing.  Sure, things happen, but this isn't the first time I've experienced it.  Some of you may say, quit complaining and stop buying, but then how can I show off the brand and my support, which is a big deal with Les Mills.

Because I was upset, I contacted the Director of Operations of Event for my area, and was told that all sales were final and there was nothing she could do.  With that said, I was even more dissappointed and why doesn't Les Mills offer a return policy?  Stores like Nike and Adidas will take articles of clothing back if ruined after a first wash or even after one wear.  We pay a lot of money for clothes that we sweat in and they should at least last for a quarter.

I will get off my soap box for now, but just wanted to know how others felt out there, or if they have had any bad experiences with branded products.

    Thx for listening!

    Re: Quality of Clothing

I can't even seem to buy any LM clothing.  The LM website has only 2 tops for Body Attack and one of them is a bra top.  I tried to buy from the NZ website and after my order was complete I got an email saying sorry you took the time to browse our site and make careful selections but we can't ship to you.  The checkout page has shipping rates to the U.S.  This whole thing is confusing.  Maybe I shouldn't buy the clothing if it isn't worth the exorbitant amount they charge for it.

    Hi edith

I bought the silver attack vest from NZ clothing and after the first wash the branding peeled away to leave me with random letters left which did not say body attack and the tattoo peeled off too, my friend who also bought it has a problem with her silver coming off and leaving the top white

Man, thanks for sharing your story.  Will make me think twice about ordering any Les Mills clothing, not that I could have bought any lately since they don't seem to have any items.  You would think that Les Mills would stand behind their brand, especially after charging us a small fortune to wear their stuff.  Maybe if there are enough complaints, they would do something about it (I hope).

I wasn't too pleased with the cycling jersey I bought-it came from France, I believe.  Sure it looks nice, but it definitely is not a performance jersey.  It doesn't wick the sweat very well-and it holds odors like no other jersey I own.  I definitely do not wear it on long rides outdoors.

Hey my BodyPump shirt is looking like its going to start to peel...

Im going to start throwing it in a sink to wash it. Maybe handwashing it will help it hold up better.

    Re: Quality of Clothing

Sure sounds like the US branded clothing aint that good by all accounts.    I have bought BC branded clothing from NZ and the french website and have never had any problems with them.   i was a bit miffed that we couldn't order from the US site, but now after reading this, think I will stick to ordering from either NZ or the french site.

I handwash my lm tops because they're so expensive I want to keep them for as long as possible but even still, one them is starting to look a bit bobbly and I'm not happy about it at all

    Not tired are you???

    Re: Quality of Clothing

Sorry you are having such problems with your clothing!  Good to know the newer items may not be up to par.

I wanted to comment on buying the eBay clothing.  I have many pieces of LMI going back five years and all have been extremely durable.  Clothing used to have embroidered logos, etc. and the fabric wears like iron.  If you can find these items you will most likely not be disappointed.  I have newer tops from the French line - the half zip with the Maori swirls and also, this top is washer and dryer friendly although the fabric is easily snagged.
