    Combo class

My gym is offering a combo BC/BP class and it going over VERY WELL.  Our gym also offers TurboKick.  Now, the TK instructor (who is also BP) wants to do a combo TK/BP class.  Is this even legal??  Can someone please tell me???

    Re: Combo class

I didn't know you could do a BC/BP combo class - my instructor did it after her first baby as a way to get back into combat but when the GFM at the gym called LM it was a big no no!!!  I think it would go over well at my gym too....would be interested to know if it is "legal"!!

By "Legal" I assume you wonder whether it violates your contract with Les Mills (certifier vs. certified instructor)?

It's a very intriguing question.  I don't have the hindsight, but it's definetly in the grey area.  As a licensed instructor we are not to change the sequence, we are not allowed to make up our own chorey, and we may not alter the chorey.  Doing a 45min version of the class is (at least here in Sweden) allowed afaik.  To be on the safe side (never having to risk getting your hands slapped), you could try convince your GFM doing the combo class as two different classes but back to back; so the pump-part is a genuine non-altered 45min version, and let the turbokick-part be it's own.

I have an idea that this thread will be quite interesting...   Yes

    Re: Combo class

I believe at Les Mills Auckland NZ they do a BP / BS combo class, but I've not heard of a BC / BP Combo class - that would be quite difficult in my opinion because you'd have to move the step out the way to do combat, then put it back to do pump... sounds weird to me!

    Re: Combo class

This thread recently appeared in the BA forum as well. From reading through the deed of understanding that you've signed you should not combine tracks from two different classes to make up a new standalone class. It goes against the contract you signed.

A good option is to have 2 45 minute classes back to back and get mbrs to stay for both. BA and BP back to back is very popular here in Sydney although it's bloody hard! With the new 30 minute BP you could easily do a 45 min something and then follow it up with 30 mins of BP. Good combo I reckon.

On another note I was recently in Auckland and stopped by the LM club where they do the filmings and Lisa O teaches a BS/BP combo class. Maybe it's tester for a future 9th program? Wouldn't surprise me!
