BodyVive medical question - female advice required

    Hey Vivers!

I had one of my new members come up to me at the end of my class this week and ask me some questions about BodyVive. One of the questions she had was about the implications doing Vive during a menstrual cycle. Now I know this sounds completely stupid, and I do believe that there shouldn't be anything wrong with it, but being a male and all, I wasn't sure how to answer her question.

So what I was wondering from the female instructor population out there, is there anything particular that female members need to be aware of when doing Vive mid-cycle, or is there not really anything to worry about? Just so I know in case I get asked again.

A potentially embarrassing question, I know, but want to be absolutely sure.

    Thanks guys Big Smile

    Hi JamFrog,

Funny question and for you embarrasing. My personal opinion based upon my own experience is that every type of workout can but just help her with her hormonal cyclus. It has helped me with the ups and downs of the hormonal changes. It sort of steadies it because a good workout influences the production of adrenaline and endomorfines AND it keeps your thoughts away from the monthly "problem" so BV is a very good class to do. I think if you would ask a physician maybe he/she can give a medically supported answer. Encourage this lady to follow as much BV classes as possible it will positively influence her well being!

Good Luck and you can always ask me for advice on female issues don't be embarrased ....

Thanks heaps for the reply, annelies! That's what I thought, but I wanted to make sure first Smile

Hopefully she comes back next week... I can certainly pass on that info to her!

    Hi JamFrog!

There is nothing to worry about exercise while on her period, and in fact exercise can help in many ways, including what annalise shared. BV (and any exercise) can help reduce the discomfort of cramps and bloating and fight against any fatigue typically associated with the cycle.

If your member has specific concerns or feels any pain abnormal of her normal period, she really should go see her doctor. But generally speaking, there is nothing to worry about.

    Hope this helps!

That is funny! Only Implications any exercise would provide is if she has an underlying medical prognosis or issue. i have one lady who suffers from endometriosis quiet badly - to the point that she is in a-lot of pain - she has said that exercising gently has helped her cope with the pain but the cannot lay down on her stomach when she gets to a certain part of her cycle, IMO if she can get through a vive class (via options etc..) anyone else should be just fine!
