Qualified To Teach

Profile

I suppose it's time to say a few things about myself!!
I went through BodyVive training last December and have been loving life ever since. This is my first time teaching fitness and Les Mills is showing me how to be a dynamic instructor! I hope someday I can return the favor and become a BodyVive trainer. (shout out to Matty, the best trainer ever!!!)
Last year I lost 135 pounds and walked into my first group fitness class, BodyPump. I was hooked and the next thing I know I'm at a Vive training! (Thanks Laurie!!) If you had told me two years ago that I would be a group fitness instructor I would have called you crazy!!!! Just goes to show you, God has a bigger plan for you than you have for yourself!!
I am the proud mom of Jack (8), Abby (6) Max (4) and Sean (2). My husband is Tim and he loves going to pump!! Jack is a BodyVive instructor in the making. If I blip my chorey, I can look over at Jack and he is right on the money!!!!! What a kid!!!
I work at a small Y in western Wisconsin, but live in Minnesota.

Availability

I have just launched BV7 and it went off without a hitch!!! I'm always open to teaching more so if you are in the Northern Metro area and need someone to teach, let me know!!

VIVE 8 insight - do not read if u dont want to no! LOL ;P
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Have to say to begin with;
bodyvive 8 ROCKS... Fame has some really huge contrasts in moves which looks beautiful, T4 has a thing were your participants form a circle and "interact" really cool (not so goo id u have small numbers thou i.e under 10) tai chi is beautiful oh and the strength tracks especially for legs BIG OUCH - the stradle from 7 is there but slighlty different and it stings! they have joined tai chi as part of the functional strength section and track 2 explanation of the ball connecting with core is gone - we now say it assists in upper body strength and brings awareness to our core of our bodies :P wount spoil it too much but it seems it just keeps gettin better!

Congratulations on your BV7 launch! It just gets better and better doesn't it?! Our numbers are going up also. Congratulations on beating out BODYPUMP sometimes - that's quite an achievement! You should be proud, both of how far you've come and the good you're doing for others. I really do hope someday I'll be back in the area to do a MC or a QW. As for trainnings, you can have your friend email training@mw.lesmillsusa.com and ask to be updated when the next training comes 'round. Till then, Kia Kaha!

Hi Catherine!

Ok, for music I usually use either powermusic.com or dynamix.com. They usually have pretty good deals. Try the Drums Alive website dswfitness(I think). When are they starting the pre choreographed stuff for Drums? I thought that was coming along soon. For the various patterns I would use turnstep.com and then just add in the drums to some of the "hi/lo" cardio choreography. I'm sure Sean gave you all of that information though!!!

Have fun and good luck!

Ok..let's keep an eye on gas prices!! :)

Hi Catherine,

I'm actually already Drums Alive certified, however I don't teach it. With my knee issues I'm not sure if I ever will?? I did my training online, but I heard the training that Sean does is AWESOME!! Did you have fun? Wanna come teach it here at South? I don't have any instructors certified (other than me) and I have a demand for it!! Let me know if it's something that would be worth your time. I could always back it up with a Bodyvive class or something?? Hope all is well!

Take care,
Karren

Hey catherine, i actually trained on release 6, which i think is just as awesome as 7 i presented the locomotion (track 2) leg and balance (track 7) and back (track 11) we only had 5 people in our group so we had to present a few. Funny thing though although i trained on 6 the weekend after the completion of the training (5days later) we had the melbourne quarterly for vive 7! Vive has def improved i have participated in 4 and the only track that sticks to mind when i hear (4) is the interactive cardio with the partners - this was used when my gym introd vive and was used to get everyone to no each other (quiet smart), 6 n 7 have def been hugely improved from 5 but. Debating at the moment whether i shud take on jam module in 2 weekends - may be taking on to much...??
Take care n keep in touch

Hey Lady!!

You need to put some before and after photos of yourself on here!! Thanks for the add!! I didn't know until just now that you live in MN. How cool is that?! You should definitely make sure that other Y's get your info!! We can always use more instructors!!

Take care,
Karren
