*******======== NEW IMAGES ADDED ========*********

Aged 40, married and morbidly obese. I have been on a health kick for 3½ years now and have managed to give up smoking and can now walk 5.5km in an hour. (Up from 4kph in April). My husband gained a Wii for his birthday in June 08 so now I have Wii Fit and exercising has never been this much fun! I am aching and sore and seeing real results! I am finally losing some kilograms too! I put it down to my change in diet (eat whatever my body wants and craves for, but keep an eye on portion control and only eat when hungry), my Wii-Fit, getting rid of my trainer, my dietician and starting to just live life and being happy.

I tell you, nothing beats an attitude of gratitude, and nothing beats loving yourself. When you stop thinking of yourself in negative ways, it's amazing how many brilliantly unbelievable positive things come your way!

My hubby and I are joining a bushwalking club this month and I've very excited. It didn't happen last month for medical reasons but we're up and about and roaring to go again.

My gym membership runs out in September and to be brutally blunt, I just can't wait! I will keep dragging myself there until it's over but frankly, nothing could be worse in my eyes. The superficial people focused solely on looking pretty and 'hooking up' and flexing in mirrors. That's fine for some, and certainly their choice, and the gym is a great way for those like-minded people to meet others that perceive the world the same way, but this site has shown me that there are a LOT of people out there interested in fitness, in life, in love, in passions, in health that are NOT like those at my gym! So my gym can go to buggery because I'm over it! I'd rather go bushwalking, walk on a treadmill, do Wii, have sparkling conversations with you all here on the internet than go to gym where I feel belittled and outcast because of my size and lack of fitness. Most trainers there do not doubt my dedication - they can't help but have noticed how often I am at gym working out... but nevertheless, the gym has a 'beautiful people' mentality and I already know I'm beautiful - it's just obvious they can't see it!

I have had some more weight loss, and am down to 118kg now from 132kg (at my highest) and 127kg from October 07 and the Wii has noticed I've lost 2kg since using it every day as well. (The Wii is also very proud of me! It tells me so! LOL). And I've noticed I'm getting better with strength and flexibility too! Thank goodness for those BodyBalance classes, the tree pose on Wii Fit is still impossible but I run rings around my husband!

I've added a photo of me and hubby from a recent family reunion we attended. My face is glowing and I look like how I feel - like some enormous hurdle has been overcome and I have set myself free. And this is what good health is about.... being free to be me!

Keep the faith and I'll keep updating! Be the positive thought you were hoping for.

hello!

How have you been doing? Not much new here on my end, getting ready to launch BP 67 in the next couple weeks. I like this release a lot, can't wait to share it with my classes. I need to work on getting myself in for some cardio as I haven't been going except to teach my classes, so I decided Oct 1 I will drag myself in for some cardio too!
We are having awesome late summer weather for now, but I think a cool down is coming for sure!
I am going to visit my Grandmother over the halloween weekend for her 95th birthday! I think if I don't make it to 100 I will be a crabby old lady! Looks like I have a good shot at it with the longevity on my dad's side!

Hope you are well, let me know!

Hiya Dee,

Looks like things are finding the right place in your life.

I've just had my eyes lasered after donkey's years of wearing specs, it was time to get it sorted. So now when I teach I can see my class. Talk about revelation!

Keep the smile on your face, it suits you.

Pete

Ya know, I had to giggle reading your assessment of your gym. There's a few where I live that are the same way! Those don't have LM programs so the instructors teach to the mirror in the front of the room. Doubtful they see anyone other than themselves. It's a little comical seeing how they stare at their own reflections.

Sounds like you're progressing along well. I'm so happy to hear you've not given up. Moving about in nature is so much more fun than a treadmill and not a one of the critters gives a crap what you look like. Keep your Wii proud!

Good for your girl. I also feel like there is a family community on here and just remember that you are beautiful inside and outside. So don't let the superficial outward appearance of others get you down...you never know what is going on in their life that isn't so "perfect". Keep up the fabulous work you're doing and keep having fun!

Thanks for the flippers, i'll keep em sacred.

It's fixed! OMG, how bloody stressful was that. That's what happens when you live in a low country. Where I live we are 3 meters below sea level. The rain was so bad yesterday. Usually it's fine because every house has a massive pump in it but when there's a blockage in the pipe then hey blimmin presto. Got a lot of mopping to to. the damage isn't so bad, we have a stone floor. Imagine if I'd had carpet. shuddder!!

Do you like my pic, this is my apartment complex in Morocco. (I don't own the complex...yet) I'm so happy it's finished.

Yeah!!!

We also got Wii Fit ( for Father's Day) and I am very impressed with it too. It will come in great during our bitter cold winters around here! I got hired at the YMCA that I wanted and will start teaching next month.

We are finally unpacked and have the house all set up, just need to paint one more bathroom and then I can kick up my feet for a while. My girls met some nice kids across the street and have been playing hard ever since.

I am so proud of your perserverance!! Way to go December!!!
